I wouldn't play KG for that. he's had some baaaaaaaaaad teamates. McHale has not been able to build a team around him at all It was his contract that financial handi-capped the team. KG's contract is huge, but there have been a lot of teams that have built winners around guys with huge contracts.

Or Mello or AI or Kobe or TMac or Pau or Vince or Dirk or Nask or Marion or Amare or Brand or Ray Allen or Toine or a lot of guys

But not many have built teams around guys with huge contracts who are 31 years old and who have already been in the league 12 years.

Actually a team ready to take the next step getting KG would be great.
Think Wizards getting KG and a coach that plays defense would be huge. IMO Zack Randoplh would be a perfect mate for Arenas if he grew up and signed an extension.
The Celtics are not winning a title with KG and Pierce IMO so that is why I wouldn't do the deal. Getting to the finals (A huge if even if we did this deal) was not the point of Danny being hired.
I am torn. When you have a chance to get a Garnett you should I am just not thrilled with Danny being the guy deciding the trade. His trades have been horrific.

i don't think he opt out, because he don't want to miss the big money if he stays he can get's like $24-5 mil. a year but if he leave he will back off the big money and get like $15-16 mil. like the other players and went down. I don't think he would do that. "Greed, give me everythang that I need" like Ice Cube said.

That's a good possibility but the man has made like $130 million plus endorsements. I'm not sure how bad he cares about an extra 10 million minus taxes when he can have a ring and decide where he wants to go. If you're KG taking 25mill and being miserable probably isn't better than 15mill and happy

I have to agree with Eja. KG sees his career starting to slip and what he wants most is a ring. He would opt out to sign with a club that has a shot at the title. Remember Shaq took a cut in pay to allow the club to sign players to help him win a ring in Miami. It does happen when a guy wants a ring bad enough.

Malone and Payton took pay cuts for chances at rings too. Rodman took the minimum just to get into the game.
$10 million minus taxes isn't going to be much to KG. It's not like he'll ever work or face starvation. What's it the difference of? That 12th corvette?

Shaq actually called up Miami and told them he would take less money because he wanted to win another title before Kobe.
Regular people can only dream of that money. To us 5 million is nothing when you have 130 million but I am not sure rich people feel that way. I kind of get the impression Garnett wants to win. I think he would opt out.

The difference is that Garnett isn't Payton in his 16-17 season man, he can play 6-7 years more man, Payton knows that he can get a ring there and that's his last chance, and he take it. I'm sure he don't like the money part of that but he took the opportunity and win, but Garnett has many years to take to this level. Gary is on another level from Garnett, he's from the old school type a player, but the new one like Garnett has interrest only of the moeny. Take Joe Johnson for an example he can win a championship wit' Suns with Nash, Amari, Marion, Richardson, and what he do, movin' to the ATL. And what about to what say Steve Francis to a fan on one game. The fan ask him "Hey Steve where are you going next", he turn around, and so arrogant says "Straight to the bank". I'm sorry if I was angry about all of you said but I hate most on this world somebody speak of Gary Payton, and my mama.

If that was the case, shouldn't KG wait for his contract to expire then move onto a franchise that has a chance at a title? As miserable he might be, you just don't throw away 10 mil when you can get your personal pride 2 years down the road.
