Sunday, June 3, 2007 Trade Possibility with Seattle Here is my idea:
To Seattle: Paul Pierce, Sebastian Telfair, Tony Allen, #5, 2 future #1's
To Boston: Ray Allen, Luke Ridnour, #2
Seattle has survivability issues going on - like they are going to leave the city in 2008. Stern won't stop it either. He does not like the Seattle politics that will not pay it's dues to the NBA hype machine that the commish has created. Does Durant want to go play in Seattle and be overshadowed by Oden? For christ sakes Seattle is operating without a General Manager. From Boston's perspective - Pierce's run is effectively over. Ainge has screwed Pierce to no end - wasting his prime years by putting a very poor team and a very poor coach around him. Ainge needs to find a punching bag to trade with and Seattle is a top punching bag.

I'd do that. Ray Ray and Durant and Ridnour would be sweet. I don't see why Seattle would though. Do you really think Seattle is going to trade the #2 pick? I agree that this is a trade they might think about but I really doubt they would.

Well of courses we'd do it. But why would Seattle do it? Seattle is in a bad way right now. A player like Durant is just what this city needs to get excited about basketball again. This trade is horrifying from a Seattle prospective.

It is a horrible trade for Seattle. But how stable is their overall situation?

Seattle won't trade Durant. I read an article about how their season ticket sales jumped the day after they got the 2nd pick. I just don't see them trading that away. Now, they may do the sign and trade for Lewis. I can see Danny pushing to get Swift in the deal also.

Swift and Lewis for Wally, Telfair and the 5 pick, I guess.
Garnett is a perennial LOSUH! Screw Garnett.
Let McHale work a deal with the Phoenix Suns.

But they have a 30 year old GM - young and sharp and he was impressive tonight. Turns out the Celtics after all these years with Danny Ainge have replaced Walker with Ray Allen as Paul Pierce's side kick. Also they have a new young star (Al Jefferson), and a bunch of young role players. I still think Danny Ainge is not finished yet. He has to use the Theo Ratliffe contract to get another major vet - perhaps this happens at the trading deadline in 2008.
