A big howdy from Texas everyone. Sorry, but I wasn't quite sure where to put this so I started this new thread. I've been trying to get over here since early Wednesday morning to tell all of you how pleasurable it was to spend the late hours of Tuesday and the wee hours of Wednesday morn with Loy's and CGF folks in The Box. I [heart] this community (God, I hate it when people use that "heart" thing...and I just did it!).
Loy, I hope you managed to get drunk enough for both of us. As bad as I wanted to get plastered, I couldn't, but I held hope that you were over there saying, "Here's one for Bob.", and tippin' back. It would be my great pleasure if someday you and I could sit back in rocking chairs, sip whiskey all day long on the front porch and "cuss the pig" [reference: Lonesome Dove, by Larry McMurtry].
I would like FLCeltsFan to be there too so I could finish my tale about how I became a raging feminist. I would want to tell stories about it. Telling stories is as old a thing as we know about stuff that people have done. All history is based upon story-telling and it is as important today as it every was. It brings people together and often bonds them...
The most poignant and powerful of stories are the ones that come from experiences that stick with us. They are the ones that help form us and also the ones we most desire to share. Sharing is not always easy territory to move into, but with experience comes knowledge, and from knowledge comes insight, from insight comes wisdom and from wisdom conscious we become enlightened.
Aaaaaawww! What the heck am I talking about? There I go! Ya'll help me keep an eye on me so that I don't start getting too nutty. Still, I must say, I can imagine nothing finer than me maybe one day having the opportunity to get together with all of you. All we gotta do is figure out how to pay for it all. If we can do that, I'll cook.
Derron, what do you like to eat? How 'bout the rest of this bunch of admins, mods and community members? Meat-eaters? No problem. We can do barbecue of any style, slow-smoked until it achieves perfection. Really though, no semi-humane delicacy is out or bounds.
Vegetarian? No problem. I have ways of sneaking meat flavors into food. [Note: With regard to vegetarians, meat juice is about the equivalent of Class I Narcotics.] Don't worry, it is not a sin on my part or yours and there is no way you will go to jail for licking a plate in ways that might only be described as pornographic. Ok, maybe there is a tiny bit of sin on my part, but that's not the point, because when you ask me, "Is there any meat or meat-derived broths or flavorings?" I'll simply lie and say, "No!" You in turn will be off the hook and able to pig-out guilt-free!
The REAL point of this post though is convey how much I enjoyed our chat-time Tuesday evening. I hope to be able to share more such intimate occasions with all of you in the future. God bless you all. You have a fine community. BTW, I gave a Gold admin rating to both Loy's and CGF in our CelticsBlog Bookmarks Directory. Your two sites, which now have more of the visibility they deserve, are consistently in the top three most popular outbound links we have at CB. I'm not the least bit surprised by that. It just brings a smile to my face.
