We didn't land Oden, Durant, or a pick in the top 4. This was the worst possible case scenario for us.
Ainge will probably look to improve via trades. We will probably make one big trade, and I wouldn't be surprised if Pierce is involved.

Pierce wont be involved. I could see Delonte, gomes, or allen being involved in a trade. We need to keep as many big guys as possible.

screw job...im done with the nba and celtics...this nba draft lottery is so stupid......i have been a huge fan since the age of 12...thats 14 years...sorry guys, but i'm done. They're not going to win anything anytime soon. I'm sick of it. I've watched this crap for too long. I'm done.
I'm sticking with the Pats and Sox. One league (NFL) completely makes sense, the worst team gets the top pick, what a crazy concept. The other has no salary cap (in reality) where cities with the most fans win most of the games. Now Oden is going to waste his career in Portland where 75% of the country will never get a chance to watch him play. Good system Mr. Stern!

I think Pierce was waiting to see where we draft, in hopes of landing that dream Center. Now that we are drafting 5th (worst possible scenario), it would not surprise me if he wants to go elsewhere. He's turning 30 this season, and we aren't anywhere near competing for a title.

If PP even hints at wanting to be traded I'm trading him for KG. I'm calling Minn right now and putting PP, the #5, GG, their own future #1 on the table and saying "You got an unhappy star. We got one too. Take a star and the #5 pick and give us your overpaid 31 year old problem with only one year on his contract"
KG will make us the best team in our division and a lot of other divisions too. We still have Rondo. We still have AL J

I'm also pretty happy with that whole #5 and GG ofr Marion thing.
i think if we can pair Marion or Kg with PP, Rondo and AL we win a hell of a lot of games, especially in the east, especially in a year or two when the Pistons die and Shaq dies and lebron has no help and sucks
now I'm more nervous about matching up with the west and the odens but I think Perk can do his job

You can try to make yourself feel better about not getting a top 2 pick, but we lost out big time. Durant is an exceptional player, and don't forget that he towers over Carmelo, which makes him that much more lethal.
I like Marion, and would like to move to get him. But I don't feel good about giving up Green. Marion is no spring chicken and he's not going to play at this high level for many more seasons. Green is going to breakthrough either this coming season or in '09, and breakout like Jefferson did this past year.

I would call Portland and be like "since you have Oden now you don't need Aldrige" and try to trade for him
