We are less than 20 hours away from knowing where we will be picking in the draft. This is a very very VERY big moment for Celtics fans.
Getting Greg Oden could mean the next Celtic's Dynasty. Durant will give us the most talented offensive player we've had, well, since Paul Pierce--but better. Getting a player in the 3 - 5 range will improve our team over what we fielded last season, but won't affect us as greatly as Oden or Durant will.
Taking your best guess, what does your gut feeling tell you about where we will be picking?

#2
I just need to see more green luck before I count on a top pick. I would be glad to get either big man on our team.
Crossing my fingers for the first pick...
Anyone know our team-rep at the drawing? DA, Doc, PP?

Gotta love Tommy, always putting a Celtic leaning spin on everything. If Jefferson was coming out today, he might be the 3rd pick, but he still isn't going ahead of Oden or Durant. Anyways, it's time for the basketball Gods to shine some light on the Celtics. I mean, if there is any justice in this world, the Celtics get a top 2 pick. As much as I love Oden, and dream every day about an Oden/Jefferson front court for the next 12 years, a Durant/Jefferson combo, and a Pierce/Jefferson/Durant trio for the next 5 years is certainly worth looking forward too. My opinion is that in 2-5 years, Durant will be mentioned in the same breath as Kobe, Lebron, Carmelo, D-Wade as the top Guards/Small Forwards in the league, while averaging around 30-10-7 every night.
Too be honest, if I am Danny Ainge, as much as you want the top pick so that you can assure that you get whoever you want, doesn't getting the 2nd pick take the pressure off completely, assuming of course it doesn't get traded. If Oden or Durant doesn't turn out to be as great as advertised, and you picked them with the 2nd pick, the pressure is off for making that choice. You can state that you wanted the other one, but they weren't on the Board for selection.
PLEASE, WE'VE SUFFERED LONG ENOUGH....GIVE US A TOP 2 PICK!!!!

I love Tommy! He is one of the few people who sees the world through green colored glasses more than I do even.
We are getting the top pick. I won't think anything else until it happens.

Jim Rome made a comment to the likes that it is up to Stern where teams pick! So, for all you conspiracy theorists, we will pick 5th! LOL!
But seriously, I think we will get the #1, because we are long due for a little bit of luck here in Boston after all the tragedies. Red wouldn't allow anything less. He's up there now with Johnny Most whose got his mic shouting, "The Celtics stole the #1 pick!! The Celtics stole the #1 pick!! Oh My God!!"

I think it would be so funny if we don't get the top pick and DA was like "well we got screwed out of it in 1997, and we got screwed again this year, so we're just gonna keep tankin till we get the top pick. I mean what are the odds? How many times can we get screwed? You'll see. Either we get the pick or Stern is screwin us. It's mathmatically impossible. Figure it out."

It would be very easy for Stern to rig the draft and have no one else the wiser, even those watching it. The Celtics needed a 1 or a 2 to pop up, the Grizz needed a 3 or a 4 and the Bucks needed 5 or 6. Stern could have had those balls weigh just a bit more. It wouldn't even have to be noticable but just slightly heavier. They wouldn't come up in the machine then. Just a thought. There was less than a 3% chance that the 3 teams with the best record would not get a top 3 pick. That is pretty much impossible without a little help.
