Successful Scenario
Due to New Jersey and Boston being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. New Jersey and Boston had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

What it amounts to is a fresh start for both teams that frankly need a do-over. Boston can toss in Gerald Green or their 3,4, or 5 to balance the talent exchange. New Jersey is probably going to lose Vince Carter to FA. I know you guys are going to shoot it full of holes and whatnot, but hey, can you come up with a better proposal? At least Jason can make the young core a whole lot better in my humble opinion and we challenge for the EC championship next year. GOLF

No way. This makes us an older, less healthy team. In 2-3 years Rondo will be better than Kidd especially if he gets a good jumper.

Good point. Bassy, Wally, and Scala aren't that good and I don't think lots of teams would trade Kidd for PP

mm nope, NJ doesn't do it without Green or Jefferson to go with Paul and maybe ask for Gomes too.
I don't really care for RJ either, I think he's too passive.
Kidd is gonna be one of those players who just suddenly goes from fifth gear to 3rd and then 2nd in the same year and in 2-3 months time there'll be a ton of "what happened to Jason Kidd" stories.
Maybe not next year, but soon.

I agree with you guys - we need to to just go with what we have and if it doesn't work out, then fire doc and danny. Boy is Tuesday night going to be huge.

NJ wouldn't make a blockbuster deal in its own division. Besides, Thorn is smarter than most people give him credit for.
