With Golden State on the brink of eliminating the mighty Dallas Mavericks, I'm sure Pierce is rooting hard for them to pull off the upset--and more than that, he may be thinking about greener pastures on the left coast back home, with his buddy Baron Davis.
Pierce is going to be 30 this season and probably has 5 good years left in him (if his elbow holds up). Does this weigh on his mind? If he goes to Golden State, he'd be playing on a team who is ahead of us right now, who is in the playoffs, competing hard vs. the league's best team. If he stays here, he'll still be involved in a developmental period as we continue to mature our young players.
If Pierce is patient, he can be a part of our team that will be like the Warriors and the Bulls, who have turned their young talent into fine NBA players. But if he wants to win right now , might he force Ainge and Wyc to trade him to the Warriors?

The warriors are going to be getting jabbed by the cap here pretty soon. they are going to have ellis, bierdrens, and peitrus all needing contracts pretty soon, and theyve already got a ton of money invested in jrich, bdavis, sjackson, aharrington, and afoyle(smooth move, mullin). they are going to have make some big decisions in the near future.

Pietrus and Richardson are no Paul Pierce. If Don Nelson wants Pierce on his team, he'll move those guys.
But they'll keep Monta Ellis and Andres Biedrins. They'll likely keep Stephen Jackson as well.

if it wasnt for his knee, i'ddef. be interested in making a jrich + goodies for pierce trade. pierce is the better player, but jrich is younger and has a much better contract.

GS dropped its baggage, and picked up some players w/ Indiana. Though, I do agree w/ fresh that the cap will be haunting them soon.
