This is probably going to be a name we constantly discuss over the next couple of weeks, and for good reasons. Rick Carlisle is a good head coach who has coached the Pistons and the Pacers into the playoffs.
He's not my first choice (his offensive system seems too controlled for my taste), but I do think a coach of his caliber may get better results out of our team.
One thing he's got gong for him, in my book, is that he knows how to get his players to run the pick and rolls. Indiana does a superb job of running picks (sometimes getting away with illegal picks) and that's a key part of the offensive game we are missing.

The pick and rolls would be what I would like to see for sure. At the same time, I really want to run like the Suns. So, that would give me some pause.

yeah, pros and cons. although we won't be exactly running team with pp and al anyway. in the playoffs i rather have superb pick and rolls than running. so i would probably take a chance on him. moot point though as wyc and danny have love affair with doc

I'd say give me victories over developing players. God, I sure hope our victory total at least doubles next year and even triples if you add in the playoff wins. If it triples, we are celebrating a 2008 championship and an unprecedented triple crown for the city of Boston.

If we double our wins it should be conisdered a very successful season.

DING DING DING! give tha man a cookie Carlise is a HORRIBLE fit for this team. he's a control freak who can take a veteran team and give it the touch it needs to improve. he cannot take a young team and develop it into a winner. Also; carlise has proven to alienate his players with is coaching style, so there's another strike against him IMO. and C's winning in 2008?!?! yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyeah, right! we don't have david robinson and Oden ain't nearly as polished as Duncan so you can kiss that pipe dream good bye.
