It was just announced the D-Leaguer will suit up for the Bucks game. The former Nevada alum has been the starting Forward/Center for the Bakersfield Jam.

Well, I guess it doesn't hurt to give him a chance. You can never have enough quality big men.

I liked this kid. He crashed the boards, played defense and took the ball hard to the basket. And he won the Tommy Award.

Always good to bring in a d-league player. They know if they want to stay, they have to play hard.

pinkney isn't the first guy brought in who put up some numbers in his first game. Kelvin Upshaw? Kevin Gamble?
HOWEVER, I have thought for some time that the Cs would be better off cutting Kandy---after irt was obviious that Doc wasn't going to use him except in a dire emergency---and bring in a big guy who showed some promise in rebounding (which Pinkney didn't do last night but had been doing in the DL) and see if they could find someone who could contribute as a role player. Kandy wasn't making much money, so cutting him wouldn't be a big deal.
If this guy doesn't work out, fine. Nothing lost. If they had brought him in earlier, might have found someone useful. If not, try another guy. Cs have been thin in big men, so some guy who can give 5 decent fouls could have helped. Anything beyond that, fine.

Is Kevin Pinckney any relation to Ed Pinckney, the former Villanova star who played some useful years for the Celtics back in the 90's?

I don't believe so Q, but Ed Pinkney types are what this team sorely lacks. I used to love Pinkney! Man he was all heart!

Man, if Pinkney can consistently play like he did last night, I'm all for giving him a longer look. The guy is a 6"9" ~ 6'10" Justin Reed; an energy guy who comes at you hard. Pinkney is pretty explosive, seems like even more than Jefferson. And he seems to have the ability to drain 15 footers (at least he looks confident in taking those shots).
I don't know--he seems like he can be a solid backup player. But I'll need to see him play a lot more like he did last night.
