Celtics inbound and Rondo brings it up. PP fumbles the ball and Perk comes up with the loose ball and is fouled. Celtics inbound on the side. West misses in the lane at the SC and Al gets the rebound and slams it home. Rondo falls for the fake and fouls Arroyo. he hits both FTs. Magic back up by 3 with 4:10 left. Perk hits a jumper from the FT line at the SC. Howard misses a hook shot and Al rebounds. Battie knocks the ball out. Celtics inbound with 16 on the SC. Technical called on the Orlando bench. PP hits the T and ties the game at 77. Celtics inbound on the side. Rondo has it slapped away and shot clock violation called. Battie hits a jumper on the baseline. Al loses the ball in the lane and Hill takes it in for a layup. Time out with Orlando up 81-77 and 2:14 left in the 4th.

Nelson misses a jumper and Perk rebounds. Hill called for a blocking foul as West drives to the hoop. West at the line. West hits both FTs to tie the game at 81. Time out with Game tied at 81 and 58.9 seconds left in the 4th.

Magic inbound on the side. Nelson goes 1 on 1 with PP and hits a jumper over him. PP drives baseline and passes to West who is pushed out of bounds by Nelson but they don't call the foul. They call the ball out off Magic. Time out with Magic up 83-81 and 32 seconds left in the 4th.

PP returns the favor and pushes Turkoglu out of bounds on the inbounds pass. Celtics inbound with 23.3 seconds left. Ray is in for the Celtics. PP hits a jumper from about 20 ft to tie the game at 83 with 7.6 seconds left in the 4th

Perk wins the tip to start the OT. Starters on the floor. PP hits a jumper from just about the same spot as the last shot. Howard is fouled by Al inside. that is Al's 5th foul. Howard at the line. He misses the first and hits the second. Rondo drives and throws a pass too hard for Perk to handle but Al gets it. PP hits a fall away from the FT line. Turkoglu misses from the corner and Rondo rebounds. PP is fouled by Turkoglu before the shot and Celtics inbound with 14 on the SC. PP gets it inside to Rondo who misses a layup. Perk gets the rebound and is blocked by Battie. Magic rebound. Nelson misses and Battie gets the rebound and tips it in. PP is way off on a 3 and Magic rebound. Rondo called for a foul, his 5th. Magic inbound on the side. Hill hits a shot over West in the lane. Time out with Orlando up 88-87. 1:54 left in the OT.

Rondo brings the ball up. Al takes an off balance shot in the lane and misses and Battie rebounds. Magic with a 24 second violation. Al holds it until the shot clock winds down and then misses another bad shot. Magic rebounds. nelson misses and Howard rebounds and gets a 2 handed slam. Time out with Magic up 90-87 and 23.9 seconds left in OT.

Celtics ready to inbound and Magic call time out. Green, Ray, Al, West, PP on the floor for the Celtics. Celtic inboun. PP hits a 3 right in Hill's face. Magic inbound and bring it up. No time out called. Nelson's shot at the buzzer no good and we go to double OT tied at 90

Magic control the tip to start the 2nd OT. Hill hits a jumper. PP misses a step back jumper. Nelson rebounds. Perk with block on Howard. 24 second violation on the Magic. Al called for a travel as he goes in for a layup. Doc upset over the call Al ties up Howard for a jump ball. Rondo steals the tip and takes it in for a layup. Perk with a block. Celtics come away with it. PP drives and misses up and under but is fouled. He misses the first FT. He hits the second. Grant misses on the baseline and Celtics run. PP misses a layup. Magic rebound and run and miss a layup and Al rebounds. Al hits a hook shot in the lane. Battie misses and Howard rebounds. Turkoglu hits a jumper. Rondo drives to the hoop and Nelson called for a blocking foul. Time out with Celtics up 95-94 and 1:24 left in the second OT.

Magic inbound with 19 on the SC. Rondo knocks the ball away and West grabs the loose ball gets it to Al in the lane for a dunk. Turkoglu misses a 3 from the corner and Al rebounds. Al comes out of the pack with the ball and dribbles up court and is fouled by Hill and will go to the line. He hits the first and Ray comes in for Perk. Al hits the second to put the Celtics up by 7. Hill gets to the basket for a dunk. PP is fouled to stop the clock with 27 seconds left. PP hits the first and Green comes in for Al. PP hits the second. Nelson misses a 3 and PP rebounds and is fouled with 18.9 seconds left.

PP hits both FTs. Magic bring it up quickly. Rondo with a steal. And Celtics dribble out the clock. Final score is Boston 105 and Orlando 96.

I did not check in until well into the 3rd qtr tonight. It was a battle of who can set the tempo and later it was a battle of stamina. Perkins and Jefferson formed a tough defensive and rebounding battery. Rondo, West, Pierce, Jefferson, and Perkins is a nice starting lineup, good defense and ability to run. Gomes, Green, Allan Ray, Powe, and Telfair come in and try to outscore the opposition with mixed results at best.
Really it is all about Perkins and Jefferson right now. They are emerging and giving opponents trouble. Brian Hill was very upset with this loss losing ground to both the New York area teams. He was counting on winning this game and Doc's troops spoiled the party and created another positive memory for the Celtics fans to take to the offseason.
Other bottom feeders are winning games so our overall league standings are not improving.
