Playing against Nelson is going to be a challenge. If Doc lets Rondo run the offense instead of micromanaging, we play very well. Al is going to be hit with double teams from now until the end of his career. He has been working on learning to beat them in practice and against the Raptors he did a good job of it. Perkins is proving to be a defensive presence in the paint and did a very good job on Dirk and also on Bosh. As his foot gets better, so will Perk. Interesting fact: The starting lineup for the Celtics when we last met 1/7 was West, Allen, Wally, Gomes and Al. The Magic will be using the same lineup they used in January except Grant Hill will be at SG instead of Bogans. Magic won that game 87-79. He loves playing against Delonte but this time he will have Rondo to deal with.  Battie is another of our former players who always has a big game against us.  Dwight Howard is one of the best young bigs in the game and always is a force to be reckoned with on both ends of the floor. Key Matchup vs  Perk's defense on Howard may just be the key to this game. |

I have to watch the Orlando feed tonight since the Boston feed on League pass is blacked out and so I have to watch on Sunshine. UGH!!!! It's not like they are really a home team or anything as they are like 300 miles away. They announced that Pierce is healthy tonight in spite of his sore right foot and sore elbow. LOL... Yeah, real healthy.

Maybe they're playing Pierce just to show that we're not tanking. Not sure, but hope it doesn't hurt us in the long run.
Hope Perk can shut down Dwight Howard like he did Chris Bosh the other night.

Rondo, West, Perk, Al and Pierce starting for the Celtics. Magic control the tip. Nelson lobs it to Battie who misses a layup and Perk rebounds. Al hits a short jumper in the lane. 3 second violation on Howard turns the ball over to the Celtics. PP misses a jumper and Rondo grabs the rebound away from Nelson. West hits a jumper. Rondo called for a foul. Turkoglu hits a 3. Howard with a block on Al's shot. Nelson drives to the basket and lays it in. Turkoglu knocks the ball out of bounds away from Rondo. Celtics inbound on the side with 10 on the SC. PP rims out a 3 at the SC. Battie misses a jumper from the FT line. West rebounds and brings it down and pulls up and hits a jumper. Magic miss and Al rebounds. Howard knocks it away from Perk. Celtics inbound with 6 on the SC. Al misses a jumper but gets his own rebound and puts it in. Hill hits a jumper over West. PP drives into the lane and is fouled by Turkoglu. Celtics inbound on the side. PP hits a hook shot in the lane. Grant misses from the corner and Al rebounds. Perk feeds Rondo who loses it out of bounds to the Magic. Turkoglu misses a jumper and Al rebounds. PP hits a jumper from the FT line. Al called for a foul on Battie as he puts up a shot on the baseline. Battie hits the first misses the second and Turkoglu rebounds. Turkoglu takes it to the hoop and lays it in. PP hits a fade away jumper. Battie has his layup blocked by Al He gets it back and then Perk blocks his second attempt. Ball goes out of bounds. Time out with Celtics up 14-10. 5:24 left in the first. Having to watch the Orlando feed is really, really irritating me.

Celtics inbound. PP misses a jumper and Battie rebounds. Battie misses a dunk and PP rebounds. West takes it in for an uncontested layup. Hill drives baseline and lays it in. West with a bullet pass into Rondo under the basket for a dunk. Howard is fouled by Rondo and will go to the line. Howard misses the first and Telfair comes in for Rondo who has 2 fouls. Howard misses the second and Ariza rebounds. Nelson drives through the paint and hits a turn around jumper. Al drives to the basket and is fouled by Battie. Al hits the first. He misses the second and Perk rebounds. Al misses a dunk but is fouled by Howard. He hits the first and misses the second. Howard is fouled by Al, his second. Time out with Boston up 20-14 and 2:43 left in the first.

They are showing a couple of brave Magic fans in the midst of the Garden crowd. Gomes comes in for Al who has 2 fouls. Howard hits both FTs. PP drives the lane and is fouled by Ariza. Celtics inbound on the side. PP drives into the lane and is fouled hard by Nelson as he comes away rubbing his elbow and shoulder. PP hits the first and rims out the second. Magic get the rebound. Gomes with a steal. Gomes called for an offensive foul as Hill takes the charge. Ariza lays it in. Perk goes to the basket and is fouled hard by Darko. He front rims the first. Green comes in for West. He hits the second. Howard hits a hook shot on the baseline. PP drives to the basket and is hit but no call. He banged knees with Darko and both are holding their knees. Darko limping off the floor PP is ok. Magic inbound. Nelson brings it up the floor. Ariza drives to the basket and Green with a block. Gomes has his shot blocked by Howard. Celtics inbound on the baseline. TElfair misses a jumper from the corner. Ariza rebounds. Nelson called for a carry. Ray comes in for Perkins and the Celtics are very small right now. 22.3 seconds left in the quarter. Celtics inbound. Telfair dribbles up top He drives into the lane and kicks to Green who goes in for an impressive slam. Nelson's half court shot at the buzzer is no good and Score at the end of 1 is Boston 24 and Orlando 20.

West, Powe, Green, Telfair, Gomes on the floor. Celtics miss a jumper. Magic rebound. Howard is hit hard by Green. Technical foul on Howard for throwing Green to the floor. That didn't look like a very good call because it looked more like Green's momentum made him hit the floor more than Howard throwing him. West hits the T. Howard misses both FTs. Loose ball foul on the rebound and Magic inbound. Ariza turns it over out of bounds. Telfair turns it over. Redick misses a jumper. Telfair misses a layup. and Howard is called for a foul. Telfair hits both FTs. Foul called on Powe. Magic inbound on the side. Offensive foul on Ariza as Powe takes the charge. Telfair steps out of bounds and then slams the ball on the floor and is called for a technical. Magic hit the T. Celtics with pressure in the back court. holding foul on Powe. Redick called for a travel. West misses a jumper and Magic rebound. Dooling misses and Ariza rebounds. Redick drives and draws a foul on Green. He hits both FTs. Gomes inbounds to West who quickly passes back to Telfair who brings it up. Telfair misses a jumper as the SC wears down. Powe swoops in for the rebound. Offensive foul on Powe. Time out with 8:26 left in the second and Celtics up 27-23

Al, West, PP, Rondo, Gomes on the floor. He hits the first. Gomes hits a jumper along the baseline. Redick misses a jumper and Rondo rebounds. Gomes misses a jumper and rebound goes over the back board to Orlando. Hill drives baseline and is fouled by Al, his 3rd. Hill hits the first. P[erk comes in for Al. He hits the second. PP's shot is blocked by Howard. howard gets the ball inside and Slams it home over Perk to tie the game at 29. Perk's hook shot is no good and Turkoglu rebounds. Magic lose the ball out of bounds. Time out with game tied at 29 and 5:58 left in the half

Celtics inbound on the baseline with 12 on the SC. Rondo hits a pull up jumper. Travelling on Redick. Perk loses it and Rondo steals it back. West hits a 3. Magic miss and rebound is tipped out to Rondo. Gomes hits a jumper. Rondo is really good. I mean really good. If he is this good as a rookie, I can't wait to see him next season. Rondo is the reason that the game went from a tie to a 7 point lead. Time out with Celtics up 36-29 and 4:46 left in the half.

Rondo almost turns the ball over but Gomes comes up with it. Rondo takes it to the hoop and misses a layup. Perk rebounds and misses the put back. Gomes rebounds and is fouled. He hits both FTs. PP with a block and Perk rebounds and gets it out to PP who runs the floor and lays it in. Hill misses on the baseline and Perk rebounds. Perk backs in and lays it in. Offensive foul on Hill as PP takes the charge. PP drives to the basket and lays it in. Battie lays it in. PP hits a jumper. Hill steps around PP and lays it in. Rondo drives into the paint and kicks out to gomes for a jumper. PP called for a foul on Turkoglu. He hits the first and Green comes in for Perk. He hits the second. Telfair turns it over as he brings it up and Dooling hits a jumper at the buzzer. Telfair has been terrible tonight. Score at the half is Celtics 50 and Magic 40.

Magic come up with it. Magic miss a jumper and Turkoglu called for a foul on the rebound. PP misses a fall away and Perk rebounds. Gets it to Al who lays it in. defensive 3 second violation on the Celtics. Nelson hits the T. Magic inbound with 14 on the SC. Turkoglu hits a jumper. Perk misses a jumper and Battie rebounds. Battie misses a jumper and Rondo rebounds. PP misses a 3. Rebound is tipped around but Magic come away with it. Battie hits a jumper. Lead is down to 6. Rondo misses a jumper from the FT line and Magic rebound. Hill misses a layup and Al rebounds. Shot clock violation on the Celtics. Battie misses from the corner and Perk rebounds. Al hits a jumper and is fouled on the shot by Battie. Al hits the FT. Hill misses but Battie is there for the rebound and put back. Rondo pushes the ball up the floor very quickly he finds a cutting Pierce who his fouled. He hits both FTs. Turkoglu hits a short jumper and he is fouled by Rondo. Turkoglu misses the FT. Al tips the rebound to West. Rondo misses a layup and then steps out of bounds as he swoops in for the rebound. West called for a foul. Magic inbound on the side. Turkoglu misses a jumper. Al rebounds. Al spins on the baseline and steps out of bounds before he lays it in. Time out with Celtics up 59-52 and 5:42 left in the 3rd.

Nelson gets it inside and lays it in. Rondo called for a double dribble. Celtics with 11 turnovers to 10 for the Magic. Nelson drives to the basket and perk with a monster block. Mabic inbound and turn it over. PP misses a jumper and Magic rebound. Turkoglu lays it in. Time out with Celtics up 59-56 and 3:54 left in the third.

PP misses a jumper in the lane and Hill rebounds. Magic turn it over in the lane and Ray takes it in for a dunk. Howard misses inside and gomes rebounds. Telfair misses a jumper. Powe is called for his 5th foul on the rebound. Magic inbound on the side. Howard with a 2 handed slam. Telfair misses a 3 and Magic rebound. Powe fouls out as he tries to stop a Howard dunk. Al back in for Powe. Howard misses a layup and rebound goes out off Rondo. West, Rondo, Al, Pierce and Gomes on the floor. Arroyo hits a jumper. Magic pull to within 1. Rondo misses at the SC and Magic come away with the rebound. Ariza is fouled by PP. He hits the first to tie the game at 70. He hits the second and Magic have the lead since 5-4. Offensive foul on Gomes as Arroyo flops. Arroyo is fouled by Gomes as he drives to the basket, his 4th foul. perk comes in for Gomes. He hits both FTs. Al misses in the lane and Perk rebounds and lays it in. Howard travels as Perk plays great defense. PP misses a 3 and Howard rebounds. Howard drives past PP and stops and hits a jumper in the lane. Al's jump hook goes in and out and Magic rebound. Perk comes out of nowhere to block Battie's shot and the ball goes out of bounds off Battie. Time out with Magic up 75-72 and 5:10 left in the 4th.
