Due to Miami and Boston being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Miami and Boston had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

This is for Paul Pierce to get the veteran help he needs - Antione Walker and Paul Pierce have had success in the past and Miami franky needs a shooter rather than a veteran inspirational leader. I threw in an exchange of young wings Dorell and Gerald Green. Boston also gets Doleac - a servicable veteran back up Center better than Olowakandi.

Doesn't seem like the Celtics would be getting fair value in return. I wouldn't give away G2, not yet anyways.

Plus Ainge traded away Walker a couple of years ago for a reason -- the ball stopped moving once it hit his hands and we did not exactly play well as a team in our first round loss to a crippled Indiana Pacers team.

I don't see this trade as moving us forward at all. We are not nearly a good enough team for Walker to make a difference in getting us to the playoffs.

Pass on that trade. I'd take Wally over Antoine just because his deal is shorter, and I'd take Green over Dorrell as well(though its close to a toss-up).
