Blocking foul on Bosh, his second. West misses a jumper and Perk grabs the rebound. They call Perk for a foul on the rebound - another bad call. Powe comes in for Perk. Parker is fouled by West as he takes a jumper from the corner. Parker hits both FTs to tie the game at 34. West misses from the FT line. Powe gets the rebound and misses a layup. He gets the rebound and misses again. Raptors rebound and turn it over. PP hits a 3. Toronto misses and Rondo rebounds. West fumbles the pass inside and it goes out off Boston. Rasho hits a hook shot in the lane. PP hits a 3 as the SC goes off. Time out with 20 seconds left in the half and Celtics up 40-36. Raptors inbound on the side. Blocking foul called on Rondo as Graham takes it to the hoop. Another bad call by the refs. He hits the first. Telfair comes in for Powe. He hits the second. Celtics inbound with 5 on the SC. Starters on the floor for the Celtics. Celtics inbound to start the third. West misses a 3 and Bosh rebounds. Bosh loses it in the lane as West knocks it away. Pierce is doubled and he gets it to al who hits a jump hook in the lane. Bosh misses a jumper and rebound goes over the back board to the Celtics. Rondo takes it to the hoop and draws a foul on Ford. Rondo hits both FTs. Raptors miss from the corner and Al rebounds. West takes it to the hoop and misses a layup. Raptors rebound. Perk with a monster block on Rasho. ball goes out off Raptors. Ford called for his 3rd foul. Celtics turn it over. Bosh misses and PP rebounds. PP drives to the basket and is fouled. He back rims the first. and rattles in the second. Rondo called for a foul on Ford, his second. Raptors inbound on the side. Raptors miss and Celtics rebound. PP takes it to the hoop and has it blocked by Rasho. Raptors come away with it. Rasho hits a jumper. offensive foul on West, his second. Bosh hits a jumper from the top of the key. PP hits a jumper from the top of the key. Graham misses and Rondo rebounds. Raptors inbound and bring it up. They lose the ball in the lane but it goes out off Boston. The inbound with 7 on the SC. Bosh misses and Rondo rebounds. Celtics miss a 3 and Parker rebounds. Rondo called for a foul on Ford, his 3rd. Toronto turns it over and Rondo runs the floor gets it to West for a layup. Graham turns it over to Al. Al splits the double team and lays it in. Graham lays it in. PP drives into a crowd and turns it over. Ford gets it ahead and takes it to the hoop for 2. Time out with Boston up 55-46 and 4:50 left in the 3rd.

Bosh misses over Perk and Al rebounds. Perk is doing a great job defensively on Bosh. PP takes it to the hoop and draws a foul. PP hits both FTs. Parker hits a jumper. Rondo gets into the lane and kicks out to PP who misses a jumper. Raptors rebound. Raptors turn it over as Garbajosa steps out of bounds trying to save it. Al gets the ball in the lane and lays it in. Bosh drives to the basket and hits a tough shot. Rondo takes it hard to the basket and slams it. Bosh misses and Rondo comes away with the rebound. PP misses a 3 and Raptors rebound. Garbajosa hits a 3. Rondo drives into the paint and kicks out to West who misses a jumper and Al rebounds. West misses a jumper and Raptors rebound. Parker hits a 3. PP hits a jumper from the FT line as Al sets a great pick for him. Perk called for a foul in the back court. Powe comes in for Al and Gomes comes in for Perk. Parker misses a 3 at the buzzer and Score at the end of 3 is Boston 65 and Toronto 56.

Telfair on Ford with some pressure in the back court. Raptors miss with 7 on the SC. Telfair has it knocked out of bounds as he takes it to the hoop. Celtics inbound with 21 on the SC. West misses a jumper. Graham rebounds. Ford takes it hard to the hoop and West is called for his 3rd foul. He misses the first. He hits the second. Green pulls up and hits a jumper. Calderon hits a jumper from the corner. Telfair misses a jumper and Bosh rebounds. Bosh misses a hook shot but gets his own rebound. Powe with a steal from Ford and West is fouled on the break. Green misses inside and gets the rebound but steps out of bounds. Starters come in except Gomes is in for Perk. Raptors miss and PP comes away with the rebound. PP feeds Al inside for a layup. jump ball inside as Al ties up Ford. Al wins the tip. Perk is back in for Gomes. Rondo takes it to the hoop and is fouled by Parker. Celtics inbound. PP misses and Perk rebounds. Bosh wraps his arms around him so he can't shoot. Foul called. Celtis inbound. West misses a jumper and Perk chases down the rebound. PP misses a 3 and ball goes over the backboard to the Raptors. Raptors miss and West called for a foul on the rebound. Rondo picks off a pass and it goes out of bounds. Raps inbound with 15 on the SC. Ford misses a jumper and Perk rebounds. Garbajosa tries to tie Al up as he goes to the hoop but Al powers in the layup and is fouled. The Garden crowd gives him a hand as they take him off the court. Al at the line hits the FT to complete the 3 point play. Ford misses an open 3. Graham with the rebound. Ford drives to the basket and is fouled by Al. He hits both FTs. Rondo turns the ball over . Ford with a finger roll. Perk spins on Graham and hits a hook shot. Rondo called for a blocking foul. Ford at the line. He hits both FTs. Rondo can't get a call. PP called for an offensive foul as he lays the ball in. no basket. Ford misses a layup but Bosh is there for the tip in. Perk with a nice pass to Rondo who lays it in. Ford misses a jumper and rebound goes out of bounds to Boston. Perk is called for a foul as he sets a screen. Graham hits a jumper. Lead is 6 with 2:01 left in the 4th. West with a nice pass inside to Al for a layup. Calderon misses a 3 and the rebound it tipped around. PP gets it and has it knocked away and West grabs it and is fouled.

Q's Review - Celtics graded out with an A tonight. Defense on Bosh and Ford were the keys tonight. Ford got 28 but had very few assts and 9 TOs (some of which led to transition points for the Celtics). This gives the Celtics fans still following the team religeously hope for the future. Keep in mind we still don't have Wally, TA, or the 2007 pick with us yet. Pierce is playing 65% at best but is getting a lot smarter. Perkins and Jefferson are forming quite the battery up front. Looks like Perk is over his plantar fascitis. He and Rondo get the Q-player of the game. Perkins Defense on Bosh and Rondo neutralizing Ford were the keys to a fine game played by the Celtics.
The backups continued the defensive energy and Gerald Green scored some big 4th qtr hoops that retained the Celtics 10 point advantage.

Perk's stats aren't too impressive. But in reading through the posts following the game's progress, his name cropped up regularly and looked as though he was making a good contribution?

Perk's biggest contribution was on the defensive end where he virtually shut down Bosh. He also tipped several rebounds out to save a possession and was very active defensively and setting screens and he had one monster block along with his 6 rebounds. He played only 26 minutes because he had a couple of bogus fouls called on him early.
