They have 25 wins. We have 20 wins. If we beat them, they will have just 4 wins more than us for the second most pingpong balls in the draft. If they beat us, it would give them 6 wins more than us. This game could go a long way to determine whether we finish with the 2nd or 3rd worst record going into the draft. They helped us by beating Cleveland in overtime tonight and will probably come in tired tomorrow. If we beat them, it won't make it quite as close as if they had lost to the Cavs. Keys to the Game Defense We need to play team defense and get stops. Charlotte has a lot of offensive weapons and several players who can hit the 3 with accuracy. We need to defend the perimeter as well as shutting down the middle. Energy We played flat against the Hornets and they beat us to every loose ball and just played like they wanted it more than us. Rebound We have to crash the boards if we want to win the game. |

Perk easily wins the tip. Al loses the ball out of bounds. Doc is starting West, Pierce, perk, Al and Scal.... After Rondo has played so well, he is benched for Scalabrine. <sigh> Cats miss and Pierce rebounds. Al hits a jumper over Brezec. Pierce almost gets the steal but it bounces out of bounds. Cats inbound and Felton hits a jumper off the catch. Perk misses a hook shot in the lane Cats rebound. Morrison misses and Brezec rebounds and misses the put back. Perk clears the rebound. West takes it to the basket for 2. Wallace misses a jumper and West rebounds. Al lays it down to Perk who lays it in. Carroll hits s 3. Pierce misses in the lane and Cats rebound. Felton hits a floater. PP is double teamed and loses the ball but Perk is there to scoop up the ball and is fouled. Perk hits both FTs. Carroll misses a floater and Voskuhl rebounds. Carroll hits a jumper. Al with a nice fake and then twists around and slams it. Nice footwork in the lane. Wallace misses and Scal rebounds. West turns it over. Morrison misses and Al rebounds. Perk finds Al inside and Al is fouled. Al hits both FTs. Wallace gets the ball inside and lays it in. PP hits a 3. Cats miss inside and Al rebounds. Gomes is planning to play tonight. Celtics inbound and West brings them up. PP gets inside and lays it in. PP with a steal. Felton steals it back from behind and Wallace gets a layup. Perk gets it inside to Al who has it slapped away and the loose ball comes out to Scal. West misses a jumper from the top of the key and Cats rebound. Morrison hits a jumper. Al hits a jump hook in the lane. Perk gets a pice of the shot and Voskuhl rebounds. Cats miss and the rebound goes over the backboard to the Celtics. PP hits an open jumper. Voskuhl gets the ball inside for a dunk. Al cuts to the basket and gets a pass from PP and dunks. Wallace misses layup. Perk rebounds and PP hits a 3 from the corner. Time out with Celtics up 26-17 and 2:14 left in the first

Starters coming back on the floor for the Celtics. Anderson takes it to the hoop for a layup. PP gets inside and lays it in. Herman misses in the lane and Perk rebounds. Perk gets the ball inside and he is grabbed inside by McGinness. Perk's first FT rims out. Rondo comes in for Scal. Green comes in for PP. Perk hits the second FT. Carroll misses a jumper and West gets the rebound. Perk hits a short jumper in the paint. Wallace misses up and under. Al rebounds. Al misses on the baseline and Cats get the rebound. Rondo gives the foul with 8 seconds in the quarter. Gomes comes in for Perk. Perk did a great job defending Wallace along with scoring 7 points and pulling down 3 rebounds. Mcguinness misses a finger roll and Ray gets the rebound at the buzzer. Score at the end of 1 is Boston 31 and Charlotte 19.

Voskuhl takes it to the hoop and lays it in and is fouled by Gomes. He hits the FT. Gomes loses it out of bounds. Knight throws it to Green. Gomes gets a nice pass inside to Gomes who is fouled. Gomes hits both FTs. Anderson with and up and under move lays it in and is fouled by Powe. He hits the FT. Lead has been cut to 6. Knight called for a foul away fromthe ball. Celtics inbound on the side. Green takes it into the lane and misses a short jumper and Anderson called for a foul. Green gets a lucky bounce on the first. misses the second. Cats rebound. Anderson throws it away out of bounds. Gomes misses off the catch. Herrmann rebounds. Kinght hits a jumper from the FT line. Green hits a jumper off the catch. Cats miss and Gomes rebounds. Powe misses a hook shot in the lane. Gomes rebounds and misses a layup. Voskuhl called for a foul on the rebound. Time out with 8:31 left in the 2nd and Celtics up 29-36

Green misses a jumper and Powe tips the rebound to Rondo. Green drives into the lane and is fouled by Knight. he hits both FTs. Cats are playing small ball. Kinght misses and Powe blocks everyone out for the rebound. Green called for a travel. Offensive foul on Carroll as Powe takes the charge. Powe takes it hard to the hoop and lays it in but they call a foul before the shot. Powe hits both FTs. Herrmann misses from the corner and powe rebounds. Gomes pass is picked off. Carroll misses a jumper and Powe rebounds. Offensive foul on Powe setting a screen. Time out with 5:04 left in the half and Celtics up 42-29

Morrison misses a 3 and Rondo rebounds. PP misses a jumper and Cats rebound. Goal tend called on Wallace's layup. Wallace with a steal and he misses a dunk as he is fouled by Rondo. Perk comes in for Powe. He hits the first and misses the second. Celtics rebound. PP hits a jumper from the FT line. Felton hits a jumper behind a screen. PP Hits a jumper from the top of the key. Wallace misses a layup and Perk with the rebound. Al takes it into the paint and hits a short hook shot. Time out with Boston up 50-37. 2:14 left in the half.

Bobcats inbound. Collins takes it to the hoop for a dunk. Rondo lays it down to Perk in traffic and Perk lays it in. Morrison misses a 3 and Rondo grabs the rebound. Perk misses a hook shot and Cats rebound. Rondo with a steal. Celtics turn it over. Carroll takes it to the basket and misses a layup. Rondo rebounds. Morrison hits Pierce hard. Pierces his holding his shoulder but appears to be ok. He hits the FT. Ray comes in for Al. Scal comes in for Perk. Felton misses a 3 at the buzzer. Score at the half is Boston 54 and Charlotte 39

Powe had 4 points and 4 rebounds in 8 minutes and played solid defense inside, bothering shots and taking a charge. He also picked up 2 fouls which should make Doc happy. Perk played well with 9 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and a block in 15 minutes. He also played great defense inside. Jefferson had 14 points 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Our big men playing great tonight.

Thoughts so far - Neither side is playing particularly well tonight. Boston played well in the 1st but has mucked through with very sloppy execution on the offensive end. Defense is acceptable tonight but Charlotte frankly is not very talented offensively. Perkins is looking really good. Oden might not beat Perk for the starting C job this fall  |

Herrmann misses the first and hits the second FT. PP hits a turn around jumper. PP steal s the ball from Morrison. Celtics miss and Voskuhl rebounds. Perk with a big block. Cats miss and Al rebounds. PP is fouled on the drive. PP misses the first and hits the second. PP got hit in the eye and is bent over holding his face. Time out with 4:02 left in the 3rd and the doctor is checking on Pierce. Celtics up 67-51
