Notes: The Mavs have lost 2 in a row but are one of the top teams in the league and they are going to want to get back on the winning track. To win this game we will have to play a perfect game and the Mavs will have to be a little off their game. They play terrific defense and we don't usually play well when teams defend well. Also they have so many weapons that they can beat you inside and out. This is one that will be hard to win. |

In order for us to have a remote chance at winning against the Mavs, its vitally important that both Al and Perk stay out of foul trouble and be productive.
Pierce needs to break out of his shooting slump (he looks terrible at the line) and get his offense going because we're going to need it tonight. Delonte's gotta be aggressive with his shooting and Rajon has got to attack the basket.
Defensively, its going to be a nightmare guarding Dirk, Terry, Howard and Stack (as well as Devin Harris). Lets just hope some of them have an off shooting night.

No Scal tonight. He left to be with his wife who is having a baby. Maybe Powe will get more minutes. It puzzles me that Doc is going to play Ray at the PG some to see if he can play there. Does this mean that they are going to try to trade Telfair this off season? They don't need another PG if they keep Telfair, West and Rondo. And what is it with Doc trying to convert shooting guards to PGs?

I think they want Ray to get some experience at the Point so that all of our backcourt players can cover that position in a pinch. Ray offers something that neither Rajon or Telfair can--and that's his shooting touch. Plus, he's quicker to pull the trigger than Delonte, so they may like that about him as well.

We have the Mavs feed. UGH. At least they can't possibly be as bad as the Chicago announcers... At least I hope they can't.
This could get ugly. The Mavs have lost two and they see this as a must win cause they are heading out on a 6 game road trip after this game.
West, Rondo, Perk Pierce and Al starting. Mavs win the tip. Howard misses a jumper and Al rebounds. West misses a jumper at the SC. Mavs rebound. Dampier takes it down the lane and dunks. Al takes it baseline and misses a layup. Dirk rebounds and is fouled by Al. perk called for a foul. Mavs inbound on the side. Harris hits a jumper. PP hits a jumper from the FT line. Howard hits a runner in the lane. PP hits a jumper. Terry hits a 3 from the side. Rondo finds PP and he hits a 3. harris misses and Al rebounds. PP hits a jumper. Howard takes it at PP and he lays it in and draws the foul. He hits the FT. Perk gets it inside and is fouled as he goes up for the shot. Terry came down hard across his arms. Perk hits both FTs. Dirk takes the ball to the basket and is fouled by Al. He hits both FTs. Powe comes in for Al. PP misses a 3 and Mavs rebound. Mavs miss and Perk rebounds. West takes it to the basket and misses the layup but PP comes down the lane and tips it in. Rondo pokes the ball away from Terry and Perk comes up with it. Howard steals the ball from Rondo. Mavs miss and Perk rebounds. Rondo finds Pierce on the wing and he hits a 3 to give the Celts their first lead. Time out with 6:36 left in the first and Celtics up 16-14

Mavs inbound. howard misses and Dirk rebounds. He misses a jumper and Powe rebounds. Rondo and West play give and go and Rondo hits a floater. Dirk hits a jumper. PP dribbles around the top of the key and loses the dribble and Powe dives on the ball and calls time out to save the possession. Time out with 5:14 left in the first and Celtics up 18-16

Celtics inbound with 9 on the SC. PP hits a 3. Howard drives and his shot is called a goal tend and he is fouled by Pierce. He completes the 3 point play. Green is in for Pierce who has 2 fouls. Rondo misses a jumper from the top of the key. Mavs rebound. Howard hits a jumper. Rondo throws it away. Howard takes it to the basket and lays it in. Rondo called for a travel. Howard banks one in off the glass. West called for a travel. Time out with 2:55 left in the first and Mavs up 25-21.

Mavs inbound and bring it up the floor. They turn it over in the paint. West drives into the paint and kicks out to Green who hits a jumper. Celtics with a little pressure as the Mavs bring it up. Mavs miss and Powe battles for the rebound and it goes out off Mavs. Ray hits a 3. Terry misses a 3 and rebound goes out off Diop. Travel on Ray as he gets the inbounds pass and starts to bring it up. Mavs hit a jumper. Diop blocks Powe's shot. Stackhouse pulls up snf hits a 3 and Perk is called for his 2nd foul. Kandi in for Perk. 3 seconds called on Diop. Celtics inbound with 15 in the quarter. Telfair comes in for Powe. Rondo in also. Berea draws a foul on Telfair. Mavs inbound with .4 in the 1st. Terry misses at the buzzer and score at the end of 1 is Dallas 29 and Boston 26.

Celtics inbound to start the second. Green, Powe, Ray, Kandi, Telfair on the floor. Green hits a 3. Kandi ties up Howard and causes a jump ball. Kandi tips the ball out of bounds. Green with a steal. Green hits a jumper. Barea takes it to the basket and is fouled by Kandi. He hits both FTs. Green's shot is blocked by Stackhouse. Kandi is fouled on the rebound. Celtics inbound and Telfair brings it up. Green misses a jumper. Mavs rebound as the ball goes through Kandi's hands. Kandi called for his second foul. Stackhouse hits both FTs. Ray misses a 3 from the top of the arc but Green grabs the rebound. Green misses a reverse dunk and is fouled by Dampier. He hits both FTs. Powe with great D on Dirk and causes a travel. Al hits a jumper from the FT line. Harris loses the ball and it is tipped out off Boston. Time out with Boston up 35-33 and 8:41 left in the half.

Powe called for a foul on Dampier as he goes up for a basket. Dampier misses the first. misses the second and Dirk rebounds. Dirk misses a jumper and Powe grabs the rebound. Telfair misses and Al rebounds and misses a hook shot in the lane and rebound goes out off Boston. Terry hits a 3 from the corner. Green turns it over as he dribbles out of bounds. Terry misses a 3 and Perk rebounds. Al goes inside and lays it in. Stackhouse draws a foul on West as he leans into him on the shot. He hits the first and Ray comes back in. Stack hits the second. Ray misses a 3 at the buzzer and score at the half is Boston 54 and Dallas 44.

Celtics inbound to start the 3rd. Starters on the floor for the Celtics. West hits a jumper off the catch. Terry hits a baseline jumper. Rondo misses a runner in the lane. PP with a steal. West hits a baseline jumper on a feed from PP. Howard takes it down the lane for a layup. Rondo gets the ball from PP as he cuts into the lane and he is fouled. Celtics inbound on the side with 14 on the SC. Rondo has it knocked away but is fouled as he goes to the floor. West misses a jumper and Howard rebounds. Howard drives to the basket and draws a foul on Rondo. He hits both FTs. and the lead is cut to 8. PP misses a 3 and Al rebounds. PP and Howard both grab the rebound. Boston wins the jump ball but Al turns it over as he is doubled and Terry drives to the basket and lays it in. The lead is down to 6. Time out with 8:34 left in the 3rd and Celtics up 58-52.

Al with a steal but dribbles on the sideline and Dallas gets it back Harris takes it to the basket and misses a layup. Perk gets the rebound. Rondo called for a travel. Howard hits a fall away jumper. Howard gets a piece of Rondo's layup and Dirk rebounds. Howard is fouled and will go to the line. He hits both FTs and the Mavs have scored 10 straight points. West misses and perk rebounds. Dirck blocks a shot and Dallas comes away with it. Terry hits a jumper and Dallas ties the game. Al gets the ball inside and is fouled. Al hits the first and misses the second. Terry rebounds. Howard misses and PP rebounds. Green's 3 is short and mavs rebound. Al blocks Dirk's shot. Diop called for a goal tend on Al's shot.
