He's due to make 12 and then $13mill the next two seasons but he can't defend, he takes away mins from young guys who are better and he can't make it thru a season healthy. What is realistic? I guess maybe about halfway thru next year he could be traded since he'd only have one more season on his contract. I guess we could just mostly bench him and just wait for his huge contract to expire. The last year of his deal is also the last year of Delonte , TA's, and Powe's deal and is the year before GG comes up so I guess we can afford him. The year after Wally's last year is Scala's last also. At least we have 10.3 mill coming off the books for next year and then 11.66 the year after. Then 13 the year after. That pays for Al and then some. Another 2.5 comes off after next year if we don't resign Bassy

Obviously, his contract is atrocious. I can't back him up for the amount he contributes to the amount he makes. But a healthy Wally will be an effective player on this team. With Jefferson being a threat in the post and Pierce being a threat, well from mostly anywhere on the court, having guys who can shoot the ball will make a big difference. Wally, Delonte and Allan Ray will prove to be valuable role players because they can knock down jumpers.
But it still doesn't do us any good that he's making so much money. If we can get a cheaper shooter in exchange for Wally, I'd make the deal.

Whatever the case he has been beaten out by TA and GG (assuming they are 95% healthy or better next year) and he needs to be placed on the depth chart and get play time accordingly, like 10ish mins per night. Maybe that'll keep him from spraining his ankle every 35 seconds.

I think Wally can fill a role that this team needs. I dont really see any reason to rid ourselves of him. I just hope he doesn't cut into the minutes of guys that are more deserving. And if Ray comes along Wally should be riding hte pine.

If he and Allen both make it back, the 2 and 3 will be more crowded than ever. Will be interesting to see someone gtry to sort them out.

Good question, especially if we get Kevin Durant. I would think we would have to trade out two, maybe three wingers if that were the case.
