Talk about a big man that would be perfect for a running team and could really bring this team what we need. Every time I watch this kid I'm amazed at how he dominates and makes it look easy. Nothing flashy, just dominates.

Getting Oden would truly be a blessing. If we can keep our team intact and draft Oden, I see little reason to believe we can't be future champions.

20 games left. I'd say we are pretty much guarenteed a top 5 pick at this point. We have assets. It's going to be interesting to see what Danny does. This draft is pretty mcuh going to define thsi team for a long time......

This draft is pretty mcuh going to define thsi team for a long time...... We cannot trade our way to a top 2 pick unless Oden and Durant decide to hit the books instead of cashing in on a substantial opportunity. However, Danny will put his stamp on the team this summer and it will be the most important offseason in Celtics history. Reading the tea leaves, I say that Danny is going the complete rebuilding route and he has little choice in the matter. He will not be able to keep all the young players but some contracts expire soon and it would be possible to turn some of these assets to something useful.

The interesting thing is Memphis sucks too and they are trying to unload Gasol. Maybe DAnny is trying to work something where we get Durant and Gasol for our pick and Pierce or a combination of players, who knows. Maybe we will trade away some of our youth for Durant and Gasol to go with Jefferson and Pierce. Gasol, Jefferson, Durant, Pierce, Rondo imagine that? I hope we don't trade Gerald but if we are out of the durant picture and we can have Durant or Gerald I take Durant.
Say we have the #1 and Memphis wants Oden. Memphis has the #2 and we want Durant. Do we swap picks and get Durant and Gasol? Green and Oden for Durant and Gasol? What do you do in that situation?

I'd prefer Oden over Gasol. But Durant and Gasol, along with Jefferson and Pierce is very enticing, although its too much offense and not enough defense.

If we happen to land the number 1 pick, oden should be the selection, without hesitation. Oden is a 7 footer who plays with his back to the basket. He's not one of these soft perimeter players, he loves to bang. I love durant, but 7 footers dont grow on trees, plus he will be a defensive force in the league. He has alonzo mourning type capabilites on the defensive end. If he doesn't block them, he intimidates or alters them.

Congrats on 100 posts to a fellow Floridian!!! I agree that if we have a chance to take him, Oden has to be the pick.

I agree. But we have Perk adn we still like Perk. The thing is we really still haven't seen what Perk and Al can do together and they are just starting play together. I like that combo a lot.

I agree that Perk and Al play very well off each other and I like Perk alot. When he is healthy he is going to be a great center.
But you just can't pass up a 7 ft franchise center if you have a chance to get him. I really don't expect the Celtics to get the top pick anyway.
