Is Al potentially the best lowpost scorer in the NBA? Some of the moves he made last night were ridiculous. I know there are other lowpost scorers in the NBA, like Howard, Oneal, GArnett, Dirk, Amare, Duncan, Brand, Bosh, Shaq, Yao etc.. But I don't think any of those guys have the assortment of post moves and can score in the low post like Al. Or am I getting ahead of myself? It seems like most of those guys are either dunkers and bull their way to the basket llike Howard and Amare, or supplant their game with a more well rounded game like Dirk and GArnett. I think Al at this rate can average 25 a game from the lowpost which is pretty impressive. And he isn't really a dunker. If he can ever get that midrange jumper to go down with any consistency ala Jermaine Oneal Al is going to be one of the best at what he does if he isn't already.

What's even better is the C's are starting to learn that good things happen when they go inside to Al. This is a major reason why we have won 4 in a row. Along with improved defense.
Like Derren was saying in his article, Jefferson is really blossoming. His rebounding numbers are ridiculous over the past couple months. I know the C's don't really have anyone else in there that is a rebounder per sey and he is swallowing up a lot of boards that he might not be if we had a true center, but it's still impressive regardless.

Big Al has got to be in the top 3 lowpost scorers in the NBA. If you look at it, there are only a handful of true lowpost players--and I'd omit Jermaine O'Neal and Chris Bosh from this group. Dwight Howard doesn't come close to Jefferson when in comes moves in the paint. As amazing as Amare is, he also doesn't have the assortment of moves in the post that Al has.
With more development and seasoning, I think Jefferson is going to be the best lowpost scorer in the league.
CF, Jefferson has a midrange jumper, but he's got to hone that skill more to be consistent (which is what I think you are saying). I think if he ever develops a spin move to the baseline that leads to a fadeaway jumper, ala Olajuwon, Jefferson is going to be unstoppable.

I agree. I'd really like to see Al come up with a turnaround jumper ala mchale. Mchale used to come in every year with 2 more moves, and Id like to see Jefferson do the same. As far as lowpost scorers who really compares to him though? Yao is really good. I dont even think Duncan has the assortment of post moves that Jefferson does. Shaq obviously but he is a bull for the most part. Yao, Shaq, Jefferson, duncan and I honestly think Jefferson has a better post "moves" than any of those guys.

Unlike many of the better lowpost scorers in the league (like Yao and JO), Jefferson doesn't fade away from the basket--he mostly goes toward the basket.
I like that.

Well, I actually will get to answer this one for myself. My daughter sprung for 2 tickets to the Cs game next week here in Dallas against the Mavs. First time to see the Cs live. I'm pumped, even though I would have preferred to see the Big Three at the height of their glory.

Great Ferbo. Be sure to take complete and accurate notes and report to us afterwards My one and only live Celtics game was in Miami in the waning days of the big 3 and it is an experience I still treasure as we followed the bus back to the hotel and I got pictures with them and it was very memorable. The players were great about spending time with the fans. Have fun and tell us all about it so we can live vicariously. ;D

Sorry, no. At $75 per ticket, I think she depleted her account.

How good is Big Al? I think we have a future 25 pt, 12 reb guy on our hands who will block 2 shots per game as well. Consider him our future franchise player--Pierce will have to move over a seat like how Antoine had to for him.
