Last night's win against the Knicks was a foretaste of the good times to come in Boston. Our future Big Three scored:
Jefferson: 26 pts (9 - 14 FG, 8 - 11 FT) Pierce: 24 pts (7 - 15 FG, 2 - 4 3pt, 8 - 10 FT) Gerald: 21 pts (6 - 9 FG, 4 - 6 3pt, 5 - 6 FT)
Total: 71 pts on 57% shooting, plus 27 trips to the line.
This is a glimpse of how things will turn out for us with a little more time.

I like what all 3 guys did. Especially Gerald. I noticed just the look on his face, he seemed like a guy determined that I haven't seen out of him before. Usually he's just kind of a kid out there just playing the game and trying to find his role, but he really looked aggressive. He did some other things except just shooting as well, he tried taking it to the basket, made a couple nice passes I saw, and had some good rebounds and played solid defense. I liked what I saw out of Gerald. Maybe this is the start of us seeing his potential.

Ainge was in Austin, TX Wed night scouting Durant. I'm thinking that DA takes him if he can. Durant has a lot of the same traits as Bird, only being more athletic. He is showing to be very team conscious.

Well Bird played the PF spot for a bit, and I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with Pierce, Durant, Jefferson. I wouldn't complain. If we draft Durant let the trade Pierce to chicago for Gasol speculation begin though. A future lineup of Green, Durant, Jefferson, GAsol would be pretty sick, but would take a lot of patience for them to mature. Say we don't get Oden, and the combination of Pierce, Jefferson, Oden never happens, getting Durant and Gasol would be a good second option. Or even trade Durant for Gasol, to get someone in here to help Pierce. Who would you rather have Pierce or Durant? Durant might have a higher ceiling but it's also going to take him a while, and it's no guarentee he will ever be as good as Pierce. Would anyone be overly upset if we end up with the #2 pick and trade Durant for Gasol? I'm not saying I would do that, but it might be somethign Ainge is considering as well. For some weird reason I think we are going to end up with a front line of Pierce, Jefferson, Gasol to go with Green and the roleplayers we've drafted. I just tend to think Gasol is the type of player, and Center this team needs. He's an inside, outside guy that would pair well with Jefferson. I tend to think Ainge is just waiting to see what pick we get and what players are there before he does this.

Part of me kinda wants the second pick. Then the choice is obvious. Whereas if we pick first and pick the wrong guy we'll want to hnag ourselves. Also if DA dares trade Durant for some non-bronze medal guy with some tread on him like Gasol I will start praying for his soul cause he'll probably be ridden out of Boston on a rail. Yes I think Durant will be better than PP and within two years. I'd be plenty happy to trade PP for Gasol especially if we have Durant and especially if TA comes back healthy.

You have to admit Durant is really good. Especially after that performance against A&M. I think anyone would be silly to overlook durant and just say Oden has to be the guy.

If we got Kevin Durant how could you not be excited? I just tend to think we aren't going to get him, but who knows.

If we get Durant, trade Pierce and try to get Gasol. Durant is going to be a monstrous scoring SF and he's going to take the ball away from Pierce. You can put Gerald next to Durant because Gerald is turning out to be a nice team scorer cause he can now run off picks and execute catch-and-shoot, and he's getting better at setting up for 3's.
But I also like the idea of Oden-Jefferson-Pierce-Gerald. That foresome looks terrific as well.

I think the most we ever saw PP share the ball was maybe with Toine so I'm not sure he can ever share more than that. He'd have to do a lot of sharing in the next couple years if we get Durnat and either GG or TA get good. Rondo might only end up scoring 10 or 12 per game like that with like 8 assists.

Either way, whether we get Oden or Durant, we'll definitely upgrade our talent level and increase our chances to win Banner #17.
If we get Durant and decide to trade Pierce, wonder what value we can get from him?

interesting. Notice that Durant did not attempt a single FT against Kansas yesterday. Sounds like he wasn't in the paint.
