Happy New Year, everyone. I had just gotten used to writing 2006, and now I'm going to have to program my brain to write 2007. I should just get started early start writing 2008.

4 more hours for me before the NEW YEAR arrives!! I'm not much of a fireworks person (and if you haven't been to Hawaii during the New Year celebration, you don't know what fireworks are all about), so I'm just kicking back killing some time.

The entire island is like a July 4th celebration, but it lasts until 3 in the morning (and in some areas, much longer). There ain't no way to sleep unless you can sleep through all the noise and air pollution. My brother in-law spent over 5K on fireworks one new years eve (my sister wasn't too happy with that) and he put on quite a show on our street. And he had friends who spent much more than him.
Most places in the states have 1 big firework show to commemorate the new year. In Hawaii, we've got hundreds of them and they last much longer. Its like every other house on the island has their own firework show to display.

Happy New Years to every one. Wishing you all a blessed and prosperous new year!
I spent New Year's Eve right here watching the Celtics lose their 6th in a row, mostly because of the ineptitude of the coach. And to think that I missed out on watching Pirates of the Caribbean with the family for that.... <sigh>
Ah well, wishing the Celtics a better 2007 than their 2006!!

I guess I am fortunate I did not spend 600 bucks to make a side trip to Seattle and Portland to watch the Celtics lose more games. 2006 was a terrible year all around for Boston sports - Patriots losing ignominously in Denver, Red Sox folding up like a cheap tent in summer, Bruins not doing anything for the umpteenth year in a row, and the Celtics constantly losing games without showing improvement. 2007 has to get better.
