ESPN is reporting that Philly has traded Allen Iverson to Denver for Andre Miller, Joe Smith and two 2007 first round picks. I see this as good and bad news. The good news is that we can stop worrying about losing Al and Gerald for Iverson. The bad news is that he should be in uniform and playing when we face Denver later this month. sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2702501

HOOOORRRRAYYYY!!! Well, I don't think it cost much for Denver to get him, meaning that Philly was after either Gerald or Jefferson from our side, and Danny wouldn't budge. Very good to hear.
I think Denver takes a step forward after this trade. Whatever they lose in Andre Miller, they'll get much more in return with Iverson. Joe Smith has not given them anything and their 1st round picks were going to be in the bottom 2/3 of the 1st round anyways, so it wasn't entirely valuable to them.

Is this Joe Smith, or J.R. Smith?

Is this Joe Smith, or J.R. Smith? Joe Smith F 6-10 out of Maryland with 11 seasons in the league. I believe he is an expiring contract.

Good deal for Denver. They needed another scorer to go with Anthony. Anthony, AI and Camby should be pretty good.

Knew who Joe was. Trade would have looked different if it was J.R.

Denver's owner must have deep pockets. Theyve taken on some monstrous contracts (Melo, AI, Camby, Nene, KMart) over the last few years.

what an ididot is philly's gm!!! that was an absolute steal for denver. Basically king (the gm) didn't get anything he said he wanted to get. he wanted gigh first round picks but instead got two late first rounders. he wanted expiring contractc but miller is in the books for 2 more season for something like 20 million dollars. i feel sad for philly fans for this. thank god danny has some balls!

Philly was screwed no matter what. I am relieved that this is over and Allen Iverson is out of our conference. Andre Miller and Joe Smith are solid players and Philadelphia has draft picks to work with.

I dont think billy king ever really seriously considered trading iverson to the celtics. I'm sure their was dialouge between he and ainge, but at the end of the day king wanted iverson out west for obvious reasons. superstar players just dont get traded within the conference. Shaq, rasheed wallace, iverson, ron artest were all shipped out of conference. The owners and the GM's wouldn't dare risk having the player come back and kill them 3 too four times a year. I have to give king credit, he hunkered down and made sure he let everyone know that iverson wouldn't come cheap. He was patient & lucky at the same time. If carmelo anthony dosen't get suspended for 15 games, iverson's probably still with the sixers. As for boston, i wanted iverson, but im not crying we didn't get him. Al jefferson is really coming thru, and hopefully gerald green can get some significant minutes with wally out for a bit.

Not sure which deal was worse, Carter for $0.50 on the dollar or AI for $0.50 on the dollar.
