I understand people are always looking for ways to improve, but if this team plays up to their capabilities I don't see why we would trade players just for the sake of it. Does anyone want to give me a reason why we would do that?
I really like how the lineup is shaping up.
PF/C- Jefferson and Gomes start-Perk, Powe, Scal provide depth. I don't really see what we need there. If Jefferson continues to emerge, what do we need? We have a very good rotation there imo... Jefferson is a 20-10 guy with lowpost play and solid defense ultimately. Gomes is a 15-20 and 8-10 guy who plays just a solid all around game. Perk, Powe, Scal give us solid lowpost defense and rebounding and interior play and their affect will be felt more off the bench. We have the starters here, we have the depth imo.
SG/SF- Allen and Pierce start. Wally is the 6th man. Green provides us that energy guy and young player to mold for the future. Again we have 2 solid starters if Allen continues to play. Allen gives us that defensive guy to match up against the opposing teams best offensive player, plus he is an athletic, slasher type on offense that can really finish on the break. Pierce is the guy that the offense goes through. We all know what Pierce can do, and he is even better imo when the team around him knows what they are doing and he is just part of it. Wally is a great 6th man and provides us consistant scoring and leadership off the bench. Plus it should lengthen his career and keep him fresh, because of all the injuries he's suffered.
PG-Telfair, West, Rondo. This is probably the biggest platoon position where there is no clear starter. Telfair gives us quickness and athetisism and decent shooting, and good ballhandling. He is a very talented young player and should get better. he is probably the most all around true pg we have. West is an interesting player and I still like him a lot. He's not a true pg but he is a smart player and can shoot, and is just a great all around basketball player. I think he plays better at the point because he can shoot over smaller guards. Rondo should only continue to get better and is a special player, plays nonstop and is very crafty and smart, and is athletic. If he can improve his shot he could make this position even more interesting. We also have Ray who is a lot like West but a little more athletic. Good shooter and a combo.
Anyways I don't see any reason to make any trades until roles are clearly defined and we are still in the process of doing that, and even so I don't think we have too much where we can't get everyone time. The two guys that are going to make things difficult are going to be Green and Rondo but they aren't ready yet and are good to have for the future. Wally isn't going to last forever and if Rondo beats out Telfair, so be it. Ray is another player who might make things interesting.
