After hearing on Sportscenter that Iverson may be dealt within the next 48 hours, I had an uneasy feeling in my stomach that there was a chance I would wake up and find that we are the ones on the opposite end of the trade. The question is, which young stud would be the one Ainge gives away--Jefferson or Green?

Personally I think GG is a direct function of minutes. I think the more mins he gets and the more they set him loose and encourage him to become what he can become the more he'd reward us. I think AL plays the harder position. If you look at his stats and you look at Travis Outlaw's stats you see very similar things. Flashes. Youth. Pword. I'm sure there are people in Portland that think Outlaw will be an all-star. martell Webster will be an all-star. They'll all be all-stars. All those high school kids will be all-stars if you just wait 4 years. We're getting into an era where high schoolers are taking 4 years to just be solid players. Telfair could easily be on that list. Personally I think having Ai on the team will keep GG from getting the ball enough to get good unless they trade Wally. I think the same thing about AL. No way on earth AI or PP pass to those guys. If this happens and we keep AL his best case scenario the next 3ish years is to become a 12 reb, 2 block, 8 points on put backs guy. Basically Ben Wallace Jr. if we are very lucky. The best we can get from GG in such a scenario is 6th man of the year 14ish ppg off the bench like Tyronne Lue or what Eddie Jones and Michael Finley and Brent Barry try to do these days only he'll be young. I guess that's not so bad.

Well, if the reports are true Big Al would be the one to go between the 2 as supposedly Green is untouchable.
I hope its not true though.

Neither. I don't want to give up either of them. They are both worth more for the future of this team than Iverson. Reports are that they are asking for Big Al Maybe Danny will counter with our 1st round draft pick instead of Jefferson. I personnally see them trading him out west. If I was a GM I sure wouldn't trade a disgruntled star to a division rival.

Hrmmm... I think GG has the better shot at being a 20pt scorer down the road. That's why i would keep him over Big Al. Al needs to prove he can show up against good players.
But yes, i rather not give up neither of them, but if you want AI you can't just give them a low ball offer and expect a good return.

I had lunch w/ a friend of mine that follows the blazers, and i got him talking about their youth. He was saying a lot of people have soured on Webster. A lot of them thing he'll be a Dell Curry/Wesley Person at most. He still holds high hopes for TOutlaw. He thinks he could develop into a jack of all trades/defensive stud a la AK47. He also thinks that Brandon Roy will develop into a steve smith-like talent. I will now patiently wait to get haggled for going way OT.

Though not really, because it is interesting how we die-hard fans fall in love with our young players who show flashes of potential. The trick is for the occassional good games to turn into consistent performances -- that's what seperates the wanna-be's from legit NBA players.
