I hate to say it, but since ole' Perk has been out, we've been winning. Two things have popped into my mind regarding this. 1) Al has been rebounding at a higher clip than Perkins and his defense is much improved over the past 2 seasons, and 2) Perk may be better used as a strong rebounder and defensive specialist off the bench. Doc should continue to see how Big Al and Gomes work together in the starting rotation.

IMO Perkins would be a solid back-up indeed, but I still would eventually like to see Perkins (health allowing) and Jefferson on the floor together. They had a nice stretch of games last year where they played well together, before injuries hit. IMO it would take pressure off of Jefferson having to cover the other team's big man and allow Jefferson better match-ups vs the other team's 4 (similar to what SA does with Duncan).
Nice thing is that, with a health Gomes, we have the versatility to go big when necessary, or move Al to the 5 and be more athletic at the 4.
Part of our winning also is Allen in the starting line-up and Pierce doing a better job of involving his teammates; Perk's injury and the win streak is more coincidence IMO than anything else.

Yep, our current win streak has a lot to do with many factors. We're playing better defensively, we're playing with more energy (credit goes to Al and Tony for this), we're clicking better as a team (as evident by our higher assist total), and many other factors.

I as well agree there are many more factors. I definitely wasn't trying to dump on Perk. I don't feel Perk will ever be a true starter for us. But a better bench option. However, I do like having Perk and Jefferson in at the same time.
