back in '77, the Seattle Supersonics started the season 5 and 17. Then they fired the coach and hired Lenny Wilkens. They went to Boston and kicked their !!!GREENIAC!!!. That started a run of success that led them to game 7 loss of the NBA finals to the Washington Bullets in 1978 and the Sonics won the title in 1979 just before Bird and Magic entered the NBA.
The Celtics will lose the next five games and Doc will resign and Pierce will be traded. The new coach starts Rondo, Tony Allen, Gerald Green, Gomes and Jefferson. The Celtics team gells and begins a comeback of epic proportions beginning with a 5 game winning streak on the west coast swing.
OK, I am reaching for something optomistic.

don't forget that trading pp would net us a really good player or two plus a pick

The more we lose, the greater the chance that shakeups will happen. Either a coaching change or a trade.
Its obvious that we need to go with our youth and train them to run and play with energy and hustle. That's our best plan for the future.

Props for bringing up those late 70s Sonics teams Q. Definately one of the weirdest teams to ever win a title.

Props for bringing up those late 70s Sonics teams Q. Definately one of the weirdest teams to ever win a title. It is not that wierd, the NBA entered an era of true parity between the Russell and Bird/Magic eras. Now we have a window between the Spurs and the teams led by Greg Oden and Lebron James. Strange things will happen this year in the NBA.

I think theyre weird since they are one of the few teams that have won a title without a HOF player.
