On Celtics.com, Doc says that he is taking Rondo out of the rotation for now. I think this is a mistake. I love Delonte an would love to see him get more minutes at the 2, but Rondo brings so much more than offense. He is capable of turning a game around with his energy and defense and he is very good at getting to the basket for his offense. aol.nba.com/celtics/news/notes/notes112806-west.html

Truly a mistake. Why make Delonte into a PG again when he really isn't a PG? Delonte slows down the tempo drastically and we become a station-to-station offensive attack when he's running the show. I like him better as a scoring guard off the bench, not as a backup PG.
Clearly Doc is slowing down our uptempo game even further with this. We are almost completely a halfcourt team again. So not only do we not defend well, but we've also ditched the running game. These are the 2 areas in which Doc has stated, over the years, that we'll work on. When he came in as coach, he was fresh off of being a color analysts, covering the playoffs and the Finals. And he was enamored with Detroit's defense and said that he was goign to bring that to the table in Boston. Yep, we can cross that one off the checklist. And despite saying for years now that we are going to run and be an uptempo ballclub, we are reverting back to halfcourt basketball more and more. And Ainge has been doing everything he can to become more athletic and quick by drafting players who fit the bill and by trading for players who will help make the transition. But yet, Doc insists on holding off that project till a later time.
WHY?!!! We have 2 PG's who are ready and willing to run at breakneck speeds, who are also able to pass the rock. We have Gerald Green, who is athletic as they come, who is equipped with a built in jet pack to reach the top of the rafters. We have Wally, who is one of our best catch and shoot players (essenstial in an uptempo offense). We have Jefferson, who is one of the fastest PF's in the game.
We can run right now and we can get better at it as we stick with it.

At this point if I am a guy like Al or maybe GG (maybe next year) or Rondo (some day) I'm heading up to DA's office and saying "I hope you don't resign me. I'd like to move on" If I'm Delonte or Gomes or Bassy I'm loving being here. Where else can a career backup/6th man get starters minutes?
At this point logically Delonte and Gomes will get starter's contracts and I have no idea what Al or GG or Rondo or Powe will get
If Powe isn't as good as we think prove it. Play him a lot. You can't possibly trade him for any value if you don't play him. I don't get this team at all. Who does DA have faith in? Doc as a coach or himself as a GM? If he has faith in Doc, then he must have no faith in himself at this point. He hasn't given Doc the tools to win. If he believes in Doc than the best thing he did for this team was get Scal. If he believes in himself than he must not believe in Doc. So how long do we drag this out? if I'm DA I believe in myself. Not Doc.

Not sure what Doc is thinking here. Is this an attempt to act like a coach? Is this his doing or does DA have his hands in on this too? I see Doc as 'short-term', more than ever...

Riiiinnnggg .. hello?
Hey Doc. It's me Danny.
What do you want?
Well you know that point guard we drafted this summer?
No.
You know. That Rondo guy. I worked the draft the best I could to get him.
Rondo? I don't know Danny.
Cmon Doc. Rondo. Rajon Rondo. From Kentucky? You gave him some playing time in the summer and he did pretty well actually.
Um. Ok.
I actually had to give up a first rounder to get him. We were lucky he lasted that long in the draft.
Ok.
Well i want you to not play him. I mean he needs minutes and everything and he seems really good, and i did have to give up a draft pick to get him and all, but if you could just not play him that would be really great.
Well Danny, you really shouldn't be telling me how to coach. i mean you're the GM. You hired me to do the coaching and I'm really busy.
Oh I know. i know Doc, but I'd really like it if you could just not play this guy.
Well I guess i wasn't really gonna play him anyway, so i guess I'll just make an announcement tomorrow and that'll be that.
Thanks Doc. I knew you'd help me out. Thanks a lot Doc.
Yeah Danny. Anyway see you later. I gotta go.

Not play Rajon Rondo........
Are u serious?
That would be the most boneheaded coaching move Doc has ever made. The kid from Kentucky probably should be our starting PG.
My god, will Doc Rivers please resign? I'd rather have Vin Baker coach this team than Doc Rivers.

it's getting ridiculous indeed. those games that i have seen (all 12 of them) all showed that whenever rondo came in the game instantly got into another gear. rondo makes things happen. rondo doesn't get those funny tommypoints and tommy awards for nothing. doc is an incompetent coach!!!
