IMHO....
1. Probably have Ratliff go ahead and have surgery. I don't see him "rehabbing" himself into condition to help this year. Might be able to next year. Wonder if DA regrets not getting a physical out of him.
2. Is Olo hurt? Or not on the 12 because he has already reverted? if the latter, cut him. Go after the best FA big available---Akin A is in development league. Get another big body to give some fouls. Need another banger for the 5 spot.
3. I would think well of trading the 2 first-round choices for Gasol.
4. I'd cut Ray, and start bringing in guys on 10-day contracts, looking for serviceable bigs. Looking for bodies to play the 5 off the bench. Guys who can do something on defense.
5. I wouldn't trade Green. Some of you don't seem to have noticed that he is getting more minutes. Like some of you, I'd like to see Powe get more minutes.

I would maybe trade those first rounders if they are conditional. I'm not interested in losing Oden or even Durant or Noah for him

1) Stop whining to the Globe about the angry fans who were calling for Doc's head.
2) Start working on a trade to shake things up in Boston. Either get some vets or trade Pierce out for Picks and Last Year Contracts.
3) FI-RE DOC.
4) Admit defeat and realize that the noble attempt to rebuild the Celtics has simply not worked out and advise the owners to cut payroll and ticket prices.
Overall, I think Ainge took a big chance in trading Walker and has come up snake eyes. He had no possible way to build the Celtics to contender status.
Injuries, getting screwed by Blount, and poor coaching have resulted in an inconsistent team. So far we are relying on potential and upside and that has not translated into winning basketball. I guess there is always Wichita ST college basketball to fall back on for me.

i would add that danny needs to trade half of the yung guys in order to develop the other half. or they will all end up being mediocre

Olowokandi is on the Injured List because of a tear in his abdomen. I can't say for certain, but I think it happened on the play he slipped on the court as he was trying to get out of Pierce's way as he was driving to the basket. Apparently the court had a patch of condensation from the ice under the floor because Pierce slipped right after him.
If we are losing Jefferson and Gerald (among others) in the trade for Gasol, I'm not including draft picks. We are going to need to replenish our young talent pool for the future because we practically deplete it going after Gasol.

I'm still in the camp that thinks that trading Walker was a good idea(and that trading back for him in '05 was a stupid idea). At the rate that Walker's game was regressing with us(Rbs, fg and ft% all plummeting), its not like we were ever going to get much for him. And even if we wouldve let his contract run out, we still wouldnt have had a lot of cap room. In all actuality, there really hasnt been an opprtunity for us to become an elite team yet. We couldve made the Baron Davis trade, but IMO that still doesnt get us close to seriously competing for the title (and Im not the biggest fan of Davis' to begin with). The only real chip Ainge has had in his tenure is Pierce. Its up to him to either build something decent around PP, or trade while he still has top-notch value.

At what point to we offer PIerce to the rest of the league to bid on. The Celtics are 5 and 10 and cannot figure out how to play in the 4th qtr because Pierce and Wally are our only viable outside scoring options but neither are effective dribblers. Pierce is not a great passer and leaves his feet too much. We don't do a good job setting up Jefferson. We keep playing Scalabrine and Tony Allen (showcasing anybody?).

If we were showcasing Scala he's been showcased by now. This team hasn't had anything even approaching all-star big man status since Dino Radja. Don't even say Toine. If you do my retort is "I said BIG man". You can't expect all these guards that got famous from doing their best MJ impressions to suddenly start passing to a big man. Kobe didn't and he had the Biggest man. Wally used to intercept passes on his own team. So I don't expect PP to any time soon. Or any other small guy on the team.
