I say it is both CF. But it's much more simple to replace one than it is ten or more.

Right, CF. Even though the coach doesn't play a minute of basketball in the game, he has to be the leader out there. The players need to trust in their coach and actually look to him as their leader. Look at the past few champions--Phil Jackson, Pat Riley, Greg Popovic, Larry Brown, etc. The players on the team that these coaches coached were totally obedient to the coach. They listened to him and he held their respect. As great as Jordan was, he looked at Phil Jackson as the leader.
These coaches were the leaders in the lockerroom, while certain players were leaders on the court. I do believe that Doc Rivers is the leader in the lockerroom, but on the court, I don't believe the players genuinly believe that Doc is the leader.

Look at Larry Brown last year, or Pat Riley a few years back. That's not to say a coach doesnt make a big difference. Compare the 06 lakers to the 05 lakers. those teams are like night and day, and the biggest difference is phil jackson. But like Ive said a bazillion times. There is no coach on earth that could make this team much more than a first round and out playoff team. We are too young, and not all that talented.

You can't win a championship without the right players. But if you look at the coaches on those championship teams, you can see that they command the attention of their players. It didn't seem like the players were above the coaches, that even as good as they are, they knew that the coach was in charge.

Isn't Hubie Brown considered a great coach for young guys?I wonder if he is available or if he has health problems. Or just loves boadcasting so much.

Hubie is out of the question. His health concerns will keep him away from coaching ever again. He nearly fainted on the court a couple of seasons ago and from that point on, I was concerned about his well-being.
