Ok it looks like I backwards jinxed them and they won. And why do i not even care? Why does it seem so hollow to me? Maybe cause it is? In a win like this PP shouldn't get 35 points. He should get 25 and 10 goes to GG. Rondo didn't even play and Scala played 12 mins that Powe could have gotten.

I agree, Eja. More and more, I'm leaning toward playing our young guys and losing some games rather than limiting their playing time in exchange for more wins now. Its handicapping our future. What good will it be if we win a lot of games now but in 3 years, Jefferson, Gerald, Rajon and Powe aren't where they should be because Doc wouldn't give them the playing time they should have been getting?
Sure it was nice to win this game, and it makes us all feel a little better about the team. But Jefferson only got 15 minutes (15 productive minutes, mind you--10 pts, 6 boards), Gerald only got 5, and neither Powe or Rajon made it onto the court.
I'm going to watch this game tomorrow night when I get home, so I'll comment more on this game later.

I agree 100% with this. I feel we should be playing the kids, win or lose. They need the minutes to develop and haven't been getting them. Rajon has had the flu the past couple of games so maybe that is why he wasn't playing (or with Doc, maybe not). But there is no excuse for playing Scal over Powe. Scal is not part of our future and Powe is easily twice the player Scal is. Al, Green, Rondo, and Powe should all be getting regular minutes.

Right. Powe has shown impressive things when he gets on the court. He may not be a towering figure (stands at roughly 6'7"~6'8"), but he knows how to use his quickness and long arms to get his shots off taller defenders. And with his ability to attack the basket using a quick dribble penetration, he's more than most PF's can handle, especially backups. I don't care if he doesn't fully understand all the ins and outs of the X's and O's--look at how he produces when he's on the court. That's what matters.
I'd even cut into Gomes' minutes in order to get Powe more playing time. I would say that Powe gets an edge over Gomes because he's quicker and better in the post. To me, Jefferson is our future starting PF. Gomes and Powe are going to have to battle for the backup spot. I think that Powe, because of his post skills and physical presence, will win the job. So I'd start giving him more minutes now. This is not to say that Gomes is worthless--matter of fact, Gomes is an important cog in our style of play. But I project Powe higher on the totem pole.

Winning by playing PP 45mpg isn't even winning. It's winning on borrowed time essentially. It comes at too high a cost and too low a reward. The cost is taking ourselves away from Oden, destroying the development of our young guys, and running PP into the ground.
I'm not even convinced the vets like Scal or Raef or whoever really do understand the game any better. I'm not seeing it. I don't think in 5 on 5 that 5 Scals would beat 5 of anything else on the team, so why play him?
