Boston Celtics at Cleveland Cavaliers
Quicken Loans Arena
7:30 PM
TV: FSN, League Pass
Radio: WRKO
Probable Starters
[glow=green,2,300]Celtics [/glow]
Pierce.......Gomes.......Ratliff.......Wally......West
Team Notes:
With Telfair leaving the floor with chest pains and shortness of breath, Doc said that they should run every test possible on him so as not to take any chances. I expect West will start and Rondo will back him up against Cleveland. FSN just said he will probably travel to Cleveland but it is day to day whether he will play. The Celtics played their best game yet against Utah and in spite of the loss, hopefully this is a sign that things are coming together. Now if they could just play some defense.
[glow=red,2,300]Cleveland [/glow]
James......Gooden......Ilgauskas......Hughes......Snow
Team Notes:
LeBron has been criticized this week for walking off the court with 5:12 to go in a game against the Bulls. I expect he will come in and want to play his best to silence the criticism. Cleveland is coming off a big win over the Bulls and will have some momentum.
Injury Report
Celtics
Al Jefferson (Appendix) definitely out
Sebastian Telfair (chest pains) day to day
Cavaliers
Injury Report:
Damon Jones (upper respiratory infection) is probable.
Donyell Marshall (sore left wrist) is day-to-day.
Key Matchup:
vs
Pierce - 27.3 PPG, 13.0 RPG, 4.8 APG, 1.0 SPG, 49 FG%
LeBron - 26.0 PPG, 8.0 RPG, 6.7 APG, 1.2 SPG, 1.4 BPG
Keys to the Game:
Defense: Our biggest problem is still a lack of defensive intensity. We have to play tough defense or we won't win. We can't allow a team to shoot 59% against us and expect to win. Rondo really helps to set the tone on defense and I hope he plays.
Energy: We need to come out with energy and not get in a hole early. We have to play with hustle the whole game. The energy against Utah was much better than in previous games. We need to keep it up.
Take care of the ball: We did much better in limiting turnovers against Utah but we have to continue to improve in that area.
