Yes, Doc does say a lot of things just to tickle our ears, and this time he's saying that Gerald could be getting more playing time soon. Apparently, Gerald is improving right before Doc's eyes in practice and we'll soon start to see him show his stuff in actual games.
We've seen flashes of scoring brilliance from young Gerald Green, but more than that, I want Gerald to develop more of a passion for defense. I think that's what we're missing right now; a tall and athletic wing who can stop players from getting hot on the perimeter. Pierce and Wally can't do it, and Tony just doesn't seem to have enough focus to do it for stretches longer than a few minutes.
Just getting him on the court is a good thing. Experience will help him get better.

Maybe Pierce knows what he's talking about. I mentioned before how he has been quoted as saying he thinks GG will blow up for the C's. Would be nice to see GG turn into 20-7-5 player.

Pierce sees the things Gerald can do in practice, and as a fellow wing player, sees a breakout coming out soon. Its like Cousy being able to see good things in Rajon. Good players can recognize the special talent in certain players.

Nah, Tony's play against the Wiz was sub par, IMO. He isn't playing with heart and hustle. I'm really disappointed with the way he's playing. He's got so much ability, yet he can't seem to put it together.
