Maybe it's time to move Cousy into Red's past role. Let him fill the gap as a Prez amd do some work in promotions of the team. It could be good to have Cooz in the building and rubbing some of the past onto the team.
I still like the idea of having a past C player as our Celtic coach. I like the thought of DJ because of his hard-nosed D and willingness to pass the ball. If not him, DA could close out the season - then bring in DJ.

Wouldn't it be great if some of the past Celtics greats, as a tribute to Red, came back and lent their expertise to help our kids develop? Like Cousy working with our Points, Parish working with our Bigs on shot blocking, etc. Even Havlicek giving pointers to our wings. Whoever is available, bring them in and let this be a collective effort to bring home Banner 17 for Red.

I think Cousy is too busy golfing.

Havlicek is a guy that is never mentioned. C17 actually brought him up the other night.

i wouldn't mind any of them. all it takes is to get a coach who can get through to players. that of course implies that the coach knows what he wants and what works in the first place. too many things for our current coach to possess...

One thing I find disturbing is that Ainge probably not find any volunteers to coach this bunch. I liked Chris Ford back in the 90's and thought it was a mistake to get rid of him but More Losses Carr was running the team and is personally responsible for overseeing the dismantling of this franchise.
The franchise is now viewed as completely irrelevant. So much for the post - Red bounce. I believe that every other team in the NBA has at least one win to their credit.

Ainge may also want to scour after assistant coaches who have been under the guidance of really good coaches. Some of them are ready to flap their own wings and fly; just waiting for that opportunity.

I would like Mark Turgeon, the current Wichita St coach, to step up and try the NBA. But alas he signed a big extension with Wichita St.
