Anyone else think Dennis Johnson could be a good C's coach?
I say dump half of the staff we have now, to make the coaches more accountable. Do we need more than 3-4 coaches? Put DJ in charge and let him bring in some other Celt winners to help guide the team.
Red had a knack for bringing in past Celtic members. Let's go back to that kind of thinking DA! ! !
Keep it in the family...

I don't think any coach is gonna make this group much more than a 35-45 win team.

JHVOS, that is the single biggest argument in favor of keeping Doc I have heard yet. Maybe he should be allowed to stay throughout the season.

I'm with FL. Doc I think needs to go unfortunately. He is a good guy who just isn't getting it. We talk all the time about the youngens not getting it. Sometimes I think they "get it" more than he does.
With Doc, we have showed no improvement really in the last 2 years and this season so far. No consistency, no rotations, no defense, no inside play. The people who suck play. The people who can play sit. It doesn't make sense.
Doc, if something isn't working, try something else. Shake it up. Put in Powe. Sit somebody if they are not performing. Stop making set plays. A running team has no set plays. They just get the ball to whoever is open and they shoot. None of this get the ball to Wally and Pierce crap all of the time. A basketball team has 5 players on the court not 2. I agree they are the veterans, but set plays should only be performed at the end of the game. Pierce or Wally can get the last shot because they are clutch, but they do not need to take every shot during the whole game.
To be a successful team you need to have at least a little inside outside game. You can't have 4 guards running around all game shooting jumps shots. It just doesn't work.
If we trade Al, he will put up Zach Randolph type numbers with a team that knows how to use him properly.
The Suns at least have Amare that they can dump the ball into.
I don't think that this is what Danny had in mind. I agree that small ball can definitely work, but we used to have a guy named Russell too. Doc doesn't know how to teach big man play.
Telling Al that his job is to get the ball to Paul and Wally is a freakin joke.
We do it that way and Paul will average 28 points. Wally will average 22, and our record will be 0-82.
These 3 games have been atrocious.
I haven't seen any of the games, only reviews and box scores, so correct me if I am wrong.
Whew. There I have once again vented.

No, you are right in a lot of areas, Esco. Sometimes I wonder if we had Dwight Howard, would Doc just play him 18 minutes a game? He doesn't seem to know how to utilize his talents.
We all know that he's misusing Al by not getting the ball to him in the post, and even Perk by not giving him playing time. But he's also misusing Telfair by not having the team run pick and rolls through him.

I also hate it when the players look like they have no idea what to do. On either side of the ball. The only oe that looks like he has any clue at all to me is Wally. It looks like he's thinking "ok I've had bad coaches and been on bad teams before. I just take open shots and pass to the open man. Take open shots. Pass to the open man. Try to position for a rebound the best I can. I know Bassy has no idea what to do with this ball but I'll pass it to him anyway cause he's open and that's how he'll learn and then nobody can blame me"
Bassy is thinking "if I just score like 13pg and get 6 apg and a steal my job is done. It's the best I can do. What does this man want from me?"
PP "why am I here again"
Kandi "this is the only place in the league I could have possibly resurrected my career considering there are two to four good young bigs in front of me and the coach refuses to play them. How did I get so lucky?"
Perk "why am I here again?"
Al "please somebody pass me the ball. Please pass me the ball so I can force in 12ppg and 8 rebs so people won't hate me. Please pass it to me. Oh thank God Wally passed me the ball. Thank you God. Thank you so much"
TA "jail's not looking so bad now"
GG " all work and no play make GG something something. All work and no play make GG go crazy. All work and no play make GG go crazy"
Rondo "Dude I better not get blamed for this. I was blamed at Kentucky. I better not get blamed for this"
West "I'll play with a bad back. I'll even play with no back. I'll play for Doc. And I will play in a house. And I will play with a mouse. I will play with a fox. I'll play in a box. I will play here and there. I will play anywhere. Because I'm Delonte West and if I shouldn't be playing and my coach is too dumb to figure that out, I ain't sayin nothin"
Powe "The D League seems nicer than I thought all of a sudden"
Ray "Man it's nice down here in the D League"
LJ "makin my 2 mill and goin for a vacation in Europe. So don't care about Doc."
Raef "Man I wish I were in Boston right now"
Scala "As long as I am in a suit nobody can be mad at me. Right?"
