Perk has been my favorite player on the C's for a while now, but I have to admit he is playing like crapola. He really needs to stop committing so many stupid fouls. This is not football Perk. If you are going to punch someone, then punch them, be the instigator but stop it with the stupid fouls. In all honesty I was hoping Perk would punch a hornet. That game was driving me crazy, the C's really could have used someone getting decked to loosen things up. Linton Johnson(who is Linton Johnson?) had like an 8 minute stretch where he had like 6 boards and was killing us. He would have made a good target. Or even Chandler. If you are going to be an enforcer than rebound, and play defense, and if things aren't going your way than hit someone, stop with the stupid (censored). the zero tolerance policy is really going to suck for players like Perk, and for me having to watch games like the hornets game.

Perk really needs to work on his footwork on D. A lot of these fouls come from him not being in correct position. If you are out of position, you start leaning into the action, and thats when you start getting called for silly fouls.

Perk played very well last night. In 17 minutes he pulled down 8 rebounds and blocked a shot and scored 4 points with only 2 fouls. If he didn't have to go get his head stitched up, he would have done a lot more. That is, if Doc put him back in, which isn't always guaranteed for a player who is playing well.

Only 10 minutes last night? Well, I guess he did his job because after givng Wally a cut over his eye that required 4 stitches, Wally came back fired up and went on to score 33 pts in just 3 quarters.

My first reaction when I saw the boxscore was "he must have gotten hurt after 10 minutes". There didn't appear to be any other rational way to explain it. Leave it to Doc to be the only coach in history to pull his starter for the vast majority of the game. So he got 2 fouls in 3 minutes. Whoop de darn do. You get 6.

Perk seemed to be playing well. He picked up quick fouls, but it was because he was being aggressive and trying to breathe some life into the rest of the team who looked like they were sleepwalking. He didn't grab any rebounds because Etan Thomas is a monster...he looked even tougher than Perk but Perk did tip at least 2 out to teammates who did get the rebound. Also, Perk had 2 turnovers and one was an offensive foul as he was creating space in the lane. The other was Pierce's fault. Perk was under the basket and Pierce had an open shot from about 15 feet. Perk was ready to go for the rebound when Pierce passed the ball inside to Perk who was in a crowd. Perk had to shift from rebounding stance to trying to catch the pass and couldn't handle it with Wizards hanging all over him. Perk was playing hard and Doc just took him out and never put him back in. Doc seems determined to never play Perk and Al together. Last season when they played those two games together, they had great chemistry and looked good together but they haven't played together yet this season. Also, would it hurt Doc to put Powe out there, especially when nothing else he is doing is working? Could Powe do worse? But we need some toughness and energy and the kid brings both. Now they are saying that Scal is ready to come back and I am sure Powe is going to go on the IL and won't even get a chance... just like Gomes last season.

I like the way Perk has become more efficient and doesn't foul out in 3 minutes anymore and picks his fights better, but what I don't like is how the refs call a foul on him every time he gets close enough for the other player to feel his breeze. how do they expect him to defend if they call ticky tack stuff on him every time he gets within 6 feet of a guy?
