Several days ago---when I was having trouble getting into this place---several articles quoted Doc as saying that he would not have a set rotation to start the season, that 8-9 players hadn't clearly separated themselves from the rest.
I like that. A couple of players have separated themselves, if they're healthy: PP, Wally, and Ratliff. All others arestill young guys showing promise. Gomes would have shown himself if given more play earlier. Sporadic play of Perkins also proved to be a major hindrance.
With this many kids, PT is the carrot which makes the salad.

I am happy with this 1st and 2nd unit:
1st unit: Perkins, Gomes, Pierce, Wally, Telfair 2nd unit: Jefferson, Powe, Allen, Delonte, Rajon
The first unit plays more veteran savy, while the second unit provides the energy and athleticism.

what you are desrcibing right now will probably happen. although i admit i'm afraid of doc's decisions once ratliff and even-worse - scalabrine return. ratliff will probably take all powe's minute plus cuts into perk's and al's minutes as well. hopefully scalabrine doesn't get on the floor at all

Theo may not remain healthy enough to play more than 55 games this season. Hopefully Doc will see the importance of playing Powe in front of Scal, and not sending him down to the D-League.

I'm with Derren on the rotation although I don't see Powe getting that many minutes early on. He still has to work on his offense a bit, and learn not to freeze like he does sometimes it seems like. I also think Ratliff and Scalabrine will probably get his minutes to start. Or even Kandi if Ratliff isn't ready to go. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Rondo's minutes dip a bit. I think he will still get a fair share of minutes, but I think Delonte will get more. I would also like Green to get time but he might be the odd man out, with Allen playing better currently. I'm still open to trading Allen once Green is ready, but I like the toughness Allen brings to this team. Every team needs a couple thugs as far as I'm concerned and Perk and Allen are probably the two guys we have that bring us that.

I expect Al and Perkins to take most of the minutes at the center spot while Powe and Gomes play majority minutes at PF. That way we have Fowards who can shoot 15-18 foot jumpers along with a defense paint presence between the two youngsters.
I actually I wouldn't be shocked with Doc's small lineup that Al might see some starters at minutes at Center. Especially if Al can become a very good shot-blocker.
