Talk was running all over the blogs and message boards this morning/afternoon about Doc possibly being on his way out of the coaching gig because management wasn't happy with the comment (lie) he made to the media when Telfair was pulled out at halftime during a Knick's game to go to the police station. They were upset at the way he handled that.
A guy on Celticsblog, who claims he has a credible source said that Doc may possibly be ousted. He mentioned Rick Adelman as a possible choice, being that Ainge played for Adelman in Portland and of course he likes Pete Carril and his Princeton offense.
Later, he comments that Ainge is on the hotseat as well, and he may be the one to take over as head coach.

That's pretty much all that I have heard about that is what has been on the other boards. Nothing official and I really don't expect Doc to go anywhere unless we get off to a bad start. If he wins, I think even though Wyc has been unhappy with him, he will stay just for continuity. But if we start losing and get off to a bad start, the fact that he lied may just be the reason they need to let him go. Like I said, that is just what I think. I haven't heard anything official. Just from the two posters I quoted on Loy's place.
I did hear Wyc on WEEI and he was very upset with the way Doc handled the Telfair thing. That could mean a shorter leash on Doc than otherwise.

Doc I do not think is the long term solution as coach. Though, I am not quite convinced Danny would take over the reins, unless management forces his hand.

I have read countless posters on different boards who have 'credible' sources. Heck, usually NBA beat writers with 'credible' sources are usually wrong. My guess is his source is a buddy of his who is, like, the biggest Celtics fan in the entire junior high.

Well, I'm not sure what to think. You are right that there are tons of people who claim to have 'sources' and we have no idea who their sources are. He mentioned that he was one of the first to air out the Minnesota trade that sent Ricky and Blount over there, so he could possibly have a connection.

Can't trust internet rumors anymore. Too many people trying to make a name for themselves with these bogus rumors.

If things head south by mid-season, DA might step in for the last half. That would be it. He would bring in a new coach before next season. Let's just hope it doesn't come to that.
