Now that was a highly efficient first half.
Half our our field goal makes came off of assists (which means the ball is moving and finding the right players).
We got to the line 22 times already (though we only shot 59%)
11 different players we able to score.
We already have 7 steals and only 5 TO's.
We pulled down 25 boards, which is usually the amount we normally have at the end of 3 quarters.
We kept the Knicks to a lowly 33% shooting, while we ourselves are at 56%.

Danny said that Telfair was a great pick up for us. Both PGs have high BB IQ and Doc lets them have freedom out on the floor to call their own plays much of the time. Rondo and Telfair are both very special kids and can go up against any PGs in the league. Al has had a very good camp. Al is plenty tough enough and he just needs to develop more confidence. There is no toughness lacking in Al. Powe is a very tough player and a great rebounder and they love him. He does plan to send some players who won't be getting time down to the D League to keep them playing and fresh.

Well, for sure we should keep Powe up here. Even if he's on the floor just for rebounds, I think he'll find a big niche. We need rebounding off the bench, and if Perk is starting, Powe will be that guy.
I agree that Al just needs confidence. All players when they first come into the league need to see that they can compete at this level. And for the really good ones, when they see that they can impose their will, as Jefferson seems to be able to offensively, their confidence soars and they play with more swagger and aggressiveness.

Not to nitpick since we are playing so well on both ends of the floor, but if we hit 75% of our FT's, we'd be up, we'd have a 30 pt lead right now. But as it is, are shooting under 60% from the charity line.

When Wally is knocking down his shots, we score big. Good perimeter shooters are key to an uptempo attack.

Our bench primarily has been Delonte and Rajon. They both have played double digit minutes. Powe and Jefferson were both effective when they were on the court, but they've only logged in a combined 12 minutes off the bench.
Wonder if we can lead the league in steals this season? We are quite the ball thieves this preseason.

Seems like the 1st unit big man rotation is set at Perkins and Gomes and Jefferson and Powe will anchor the second unit. If they can progress this season, they can be a pretty solid rebounding 4 man rotation.

I know that a lot of people have Powe going to the D League but I think he can help the team this year if he stays here.
