Rondo has been the story of the season so far and has literally taken over every game at the end. Balkman looked very good in the last game and really hurt us. No more hole digging. That's a problem that has been prevalent for years. We come out without much energy, fall behind early, and play catchup the rest of the way only to come out short at the buzzer. We gotta play with energy, intensity and desire through the entire game.
We must continue to keep our TO's down. Our last game, we outrebounded the Nets and we won. This is another key to the game; we must win the rebounding battle.
And the biggest key to the game is defense. No defense, no win.

In reading your comments, something occurred to me
We come out without much energy... that tells me that our starters have got to change. Doc insists on starting vets even when they aren't the best players out there. I don't doubt that he would start Kandi over Perk just because he is a vet. Doc needs to mix vets and youth on both teams. Say start West or Green in place of Wally. Then bring Wally off the bench. Our starters more often than not dig a hole. Our young bench plays catch up the rest of the game. Doc puts the starters in at the end most of the time and we fall short... Do we see a pattern here?

Right, we have to put out a starting 5 that can get started right off the bat. We are too halfcourt oriented with the current starting 5. We brought in fast paced PG's, but to utilize them, we need to play with energy and run. With Pierce and Wally, we aren't athletic or quick enough at the 2 and 3. It would make sense to put Wally on the bench and bring in Gerald--but they need to start using Gerald's offense more. He was quiet vs. the Nets, his first start of the preseason.

Delonte feels like 145% and ready to do whatever it takes. he said that he is just a troop right now waiting for the captain to give him the call and then he will do whatever is asked of him
Perk, Pierce, Telfair, Wally and Gomes are starting

Well, its good that Perk is in there and not Kandi. But Pierce, Gomes and Wally aren't going to be able to keep up with Telfair, and for certain Perk isn't either. If Rivers wants Telfair to run and push the tempo, he's gotta put guys out there who can run with Telfair. Sebastian is going to have to slow down his pace just to stay with the pack.

We are looking good in this game. Delonte is giving us a good scoring lift off the bench, and this is a very good sign. Not only for Delonte, but also for our second unit. We need to have consistent scoring off the bench and not let the team lose the lead when the starters are on the bench.
Powe is getting to the line, but he's missing his FT's. But boy is he giving us a rebounding boost. Man, this brings a smile to my face. He commits his 3rd foul and needs to go to the bench (Perk comes back in for him).
We aren't scoring at a high pace like the 1st quater, in which we scored 31 pts, but we are continuing to make it hard for the Knicks to score, and we are winning the rebounding battle, 19 - 13. And we are limiting our TO's. These are 2 of the keys to the game.
