I feel that Gerald has a really high ceiling, and judging by his performance at the end of last season and the summer league, and how his confidence quickly grew as he played more last season, I feel real good about his ability to reach his ceiling (though not necessarily this year).
I'm just as high on Jefferson as I am on Gerald and I think he's due for a breakout season this year.
But I'm wondering out loud, how high is Gerald's and Al's future projectibility? Are they top 30 players? Top 20? Top 15? Top 10? Higher than that (Pierce is currently ranked 16th according to Yahoo's fantasy listing)?
Here's a listing of the top 30 players, according to Yahoo's fantasy listing:
1. Lebron 2. Garnett 3. Marion 4. Kobe 5. Wade
6. Dirk 7. Arenas 8. Elton 9. Chris Paul 10. Bosh
11. Iverson 12. Nash 13. Yao 14. Ray Allen 15. Duncan
16. Pierce 17. Amare 18. Vinsanity 19. Kirilenko 20. J. Oneal
21. Kidd 22. Billups 23. McGrady 24. Richardson 25. Odom
26. Boris Diaw 27. Joe Johnson 28. Josh Smith 29. Rashard Lewis 30. Dwight Howard
Al has a better chance to move up higher because there are a lot more wing players who are listed higher than PF's. If you are a stud PF, you'll be ranked pretty high up there.

I'd say Al's abosule cieling would Elton Brandish, with more blocks. With GG, who knows? He's so raw it's almost impossable to gauge.

More blocks than Brand? Elton is better than 2 bpg, which is nothing to sneeze at. I would love to see Al be a better shot blocker than Elton. He is taller and longer and if he gets off the ground quicker than before, you may be right, Fresh.
If you look at the list, the PF's in the top 30 are Garnett, Dirk, Elton, Bosh, Duncan, Amare, JO, and Dwight Howard. Could he slide into this list?

I would say both are top 25 players potentially. Probably at the low end though.

I think GG can be as good as Richardson or TMac as a swing man. I'd say Al has a really hard time cracking that list or comparing to those guys. I think Perk is more likely. And Rondo

I really do not know what players to compare them too, but stat wise, I would say Gerald has the potential to put up 26/game and 5 rebs in his prime and do that on a consistent basis year to year.
Al I would say 19 points and 10 rebounds would be his ceiling. Honestly I do not think he will ever be as good offensively or defensively as EB. He would be a tad below Elton, in the tier of a Carlos Boozer type I believe, but not to ever reach the tier of a Jermaine O'neal. Hopefully he proves me wrong though.
Besides I wouldn't complain if he gave us 19 and 10.

I think with Jefferson, he could be a 25 and 11 guy (or somewhere along those lines), but maybe he won't be given a chance to put up those numbers. I think our offense will rely too much on ball movement and the run-and-gun style and will not settle too much for the halfcourt set up. Of course, we will run plays in the halfcourt set, and I think we can excel in this offense as well. But I don't think Jefferson will be gettinng 12 - 15 isolation plays called for him per game.
His points will come off of an assortment of touches, but not heavily centered around isolation plays in the post. He can still put up big points, ala Amare Stoudemire, but it will have to come in the flow of the ball movement.
In the run-and-gun uptempo offense, perimter play is often the key. Looking at the Suns and Mavericks as prime examples, you see a lot more ball movement and not as much isolation plays in the halfcourt offense. Its looking like we will set up likewise.
As for Gerald Green, I see his prime in the 25 ppg range, but I see him as a 7 rpg guy (a bit more than you, Esco). Like Marion, Gerald can excel in rebounding if he just comes flying in for loose balls.
I can see a terrific core of stud players forming on this team with Jefferson, Gerald, Pierce, and either Rajon or Sebastian (maybe both). If Perk turns into a 12 rpg, 3 bpg big man, we are set.

Like Marion, Gerald can excel in rebounding if he just comes flying in for loose balls. I can see him actually averaging that many rebounds too, maybe even a couple more if he were to put an emphasis on it and not just scoring. Your right. He is a lot like Marion in that regard. He can just use his athleticism and improved strength to just jump and sky over people to snatch the board.
