Very exciting stuff Darren!!! Thanks for posting those. I like this kid better and better. I think Telfair may win the starting spot at first, but I still believe that Rondo will be our starting PG for the future. I love his defense and that will set him apart.

I think very highly of Rajon and will be pulling for him. But Telfair is also an amazing playmaking PG and I think he has the chance to be our long term starting PG as well. I'll be ecstatic with either one who wins the competition.

The thing that I saw in these videos is that he often was the shooter or recipient of the pass, and then doing the scoring. I thought that Rondo was the pass first setup man, but in these videos, he often was the finisher. Nice to be able to do both...

That's my initial impression too, but truthfully, I haven't seen enough of either of these guys to say for sure.

Welcome to Celtics Green billyjeff and keeprunnin! It is great to have you here! Yes, in the videos, they do seem to highlight Rondo finishing the play. But these are just highlights and in truth, Rondo is definitely a pass first PG as his first instinct is to find the open man. He can finish with the best of them and that is a very good thing.
Again, welcome to the forum and I am looking forward to seeing your posts in the future!!

Welcome to the board, fellas.
In Kentucky, Rajon played a different style, a style that wasn't all together his strengths. He is indeed a pass first PG, and sometimes to a fault.
Rajon is a slippery athlete with extremely good ball handling ability. If you remember during the draft craze, Ainge said something along the lines of Rajon being similar to Tony Parker (refering to his speed and ability to penetrate)? Well, he wasn't just saying fluff to get us all excited. Rajon has the ability to be a stud PG.

Impressed with the fact aht Rondo, reputed to be a weak shooter, nailed a 3 at the buzzer to send the game into overtime, and nailed a jumpber again as time was almost gone in OT.
I like the idea of Rondo coming off the bench. If he is that fast, he could be a real sparkplug. If Telfair has got the break going somewhat, Rondo should be able to give the other guys a swimming head by going up a notch. Kind of like Spud Webb caused problems when he came in.
Also, if Rondo can generate the speed and the assists, he should be able to make the bench scoring more potent.

Actually, I'm looking forward to the first quote of the Cous.

Cous is going to have nothing but good things to say about Rajon. One of the really amazing things about Rajon is his passing instincts. He's just able to deliver the ball so fluidly, with precision, and with some mustard on it. One of the reasons why I believe he's having an impressive preseason and Telfair isn't is that he gives up the ball. He's not waiting for the perfect pass on every possesion (this is going off of what I know of Rajon--I haven't seen any of the preseason games).

Woah! This guy is the real deal. I think that Danny boya made a smart purchase of the 21st pick. It kinda sucks for all those other teams that passed him up. Ronaldo Balkman to the Bricks - at #20 LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!
Imagine a lineup of Rajon, Tony Allen, Pierce, Jefferson, and Perkins for a moment. Substitute Gerald Green for Pierce even.

Rajon is definitely the real deal. He brings the whole package... speed, defense, poise, the ability to run the team, can finish at the basket, and even though the knock on him was that he couldn't shoot, his shot is much better than advertised. He takes good care of the ball and doesn't turn it over. Very exciting stuff.

It's true that Rajon's shooting doesn't appear too bad when you watch him or when he is hitting last second desperaton very aware 3s to push games into OT. He had one TO against the Raps and the rest of the team had 36. As of now he has beat out Bassy. We have the rest of preseason to go. Then DOc has to make decisions about minutes. The other day he was spotted reading a book called "NBA Minutes for Dummys".

Well, he's worked on his shot all summer long, and more than what he showed hitting that game tying three pointer to send the game into overtime, you can see the improvements he's made with his shooting by looking at his stats from the free throw line. He was bad at the free throw line at Kentucky (I mean, Shaq territory). But in that Toronto game, he nailed 11 of 12.
