On a team full of players who are really looking to step up their games this season, who will be the most improved player among those listed (or feel free to include a Celtic not listed in the poll)?

I'm going(hoping) big al. Perk is right up there, but I just assume he'll make good strides this year.

I would have to say Al only because he had so much further to go after the year he had last season. Gomes and Perk had a good season and will improve a lot but the improvement in Al is going to be dramatic.

I had a nearly impossible time deciding. I went with TA. I think having a whole offseason to improve and be healthy and also having defense will push him over the edge. For a second I considered DWest cause I just think the cream always rises to the top. For a second I considered Gomes cause now that he will get consistent playing time he may improve a lot but I think teams might start defending him better. I thought of Perk cause he won't have Blount and Raef around for Doc to insult him with and has a real center to teach him now. I thought Al might shake me off his back but I am just not sure about his ankles yet. I thought of GG cause he's not a kid anymore.
Also is getting back to where you were supposed to be actually improvement or just a rebound?

Good pick, Eja. I was highly thinking of Tony myself. For him to be most improved, he's going to have to be the first wing player off the bench and be used heavily, or he has to be our starting SG (meaning Wally is used as a 6th man). I think this is very possible, especially right now, as Delonte's back is uncertain.

Maybe if we are lucky Doc will be one of the most improved. He would have to be considered that if they went to the 3rd round of the playoffs. 1rst round is nearly expected. 2nd round would be very good.

Good point. Doc needs to be smart about the lineups he uses. He has to know when to play big and when to play small. He also needs to realize when to rest players and not play them to the ground. And he mustn't forget about giving young players playing time. Yes our goal is to be a better team and hopefully reach the playoffs. But he can't ignore precious playing time for Gerald Green and Rajon Rondo (as examples) just so that we can win every game possible. We are still developing for the future and the young guys are a big part of our future.

And he has to stop playing the losers. Now that Blonut and Raef are gone why do I think Scala will be starting?

Yeah, I wonder who the scapegoat(s) will be this year, now that we no longer have guys like Toine and Blount to put the blame on. If we struggle, it may be Doc. Maybe Jefferson. Maybe Sebastian. I really hope we'll start winning now so we won't have to point fingers at anyone.
I actually have a soft spot for Scalabrine. He can be a more effective player for us than he was last year, but he has to realize his strengths and weaknesses. He shouldn't be dancing around the court with the ball anymore. But instead, if he can make his presence felt on the boards (especially on the offensive glass) and give us that instant energy and hustle off the bench, he will find more love in Boston.

Why isn't Scrubbabrine on that list I think it will be Bassy that is most improved. He got stiffed in Portland last year.

Yeah, he is another player I would have voted for. But in the end, I have to go with Jefferson.
But both of these guys have a lot to prove. The stakes are much higher for Jefferson and Telfair to prove their worth than the other guys mentioned. They have the most hype surrounding them.
So how do you guys think we should judge this competition. I mean, we obviously can't compare them by stats alone. Jefferson is not going to beat out Telfair in assists and Bassy will not outrebound Al.
