Looking over the horizon, who do you think will turn out to be the better offseason acquistion for us?
-Sebastian Telfair?
or
-Clifford Ray?

Thats a toughy. If Al makes big strides this year, how much of it is Ray, and how much of it is Al's natural progression?

Or not only focusing on Big Al, but what about our rebounding and shot blocking as a team? Clifford Ray has been known to change a team's rebounding efficiency overnight. If Ray helps turn around our rebounding and shot blocking deficiencies, we are going to show marked improvements.

Ray and continuing on that train of thought, Ratcliff!
Hey guys, i'm back! I believe last season i advocated for a trade Raef vs Theo. Now, it's a done deal. I think it's sweet! I don't care if he's injured for 20 gms or not. just to have someone on the team that avg 2.6 blocks over his career is just awsome. Not only will Al & Perk learn alot from him (and Ray) but also cause our center will finally be... well in the center and not in 3pt land.
Telfair, i don't really know the guy. Never seen him play. Pg's have been dissapointing for the Celts for years. So i won't get my hopes up that much. Better to expect nothing and be suprised than having high epectations and face yet another dissapointment.

Welcome back Ossric. We missed our old friend from Belgium (whenever I think of Belgium, I think of Jean Claude Van Damme). Good to hear from you.
Good call on the Raef for Theo deal. Honestly, I wouldn't have called that one. Theo seems too injury proned. But now that he's here in Boston, I've been looking at the situation optimistically, and I think he can be a valuable defensive presence (and from what Doc said in the morning paper, he's also a better rebounder than Doc remembers).
If Ray can get Perk, Ratliff and Jefferson to be strong rebounders and have them combine to average 25 rpg between the three of them, that would be fabulous.
As for Telfair, if he can make his impact felt, we are going to be a dangerous offensive team. We already have dangerous scorers on the team and now we have a PG who can actually get them the ball.

I would have to say Clifford Ray. He is going to make every one of our bigs better as opposed to just one player. Our blocks and rebounding are going to improve and we finally have a coach who knows how big men should play and will have them play under the basket instead of out on the arc.

Good call, FL. Our MVP (most valuable person) might turn out to be Clifford Ray.

when i advocated the Raef for Ratcliff deal, it was from a purely financial pov. Now that he's a Celtic, i took a peak from at his career stats. I knew he could block shots in philly. Never realised that he's still blocking an insane amount on a discouraging team as portland. Portland has really become the black hole of the NBA imo. If you don't read the Daily Jail, you won't hear about them all year.
Edit: Ray will be a fine teacher for our bigs & let's not forget. Parish is also still reaming the Celtic facilities.

Well, Parish credits Ray also for helping him better, so we know that Ray has the credentials.
We can also hope to see big developments from Dwayne Jones and Leon Powe as they work with Ray too. DJ has an early grasp of rebounding and shot blocking and can only stand to get better with Ray's guidance. Powe is similar to Ray in that they both are shorter big men with really long arms. Powe plays bigger than he really is.
We should lock Clifford Ray up long term. Don't let him get away.
