Alright, we're closing in on game day!! Actual game day is not for another 6 weeks, but Celtics news are right around the corner and we'll get to hear of the bloody competitions that will be going on in practices. Telfair, Rondo and Delonte are going to be duking it out for the starting and backup PG slots and Big Al and Gomes are going to be hashing out the rights to the starting PF spot. We may even hear of a battle going on with Perk and Theo, since Theo still thinks he can be a big part of any team's defensive schemes.
I'm also going to be keeping close watch on Tony Allen, as I view him as a guy who should be starting SG in place of Wally. We need to infuse speed and athleticism in the starting lineup so that the starting unit will be able to accomodate Telfair's tempo pushing ability.
Almost time!!!

If several of the players don't get in occassional NFL summer camp style fist fights I will consider that a bad sign.

;D Might not see too much of that since these guys are like best friends. These guys play hard, but also have respect for one another.

I agree Derren. The guys on this team have great chemistry. I don't expect any fights a la Ricky and Blount to break out in practice but do see some very spirited competition. Powe and Gomes are going to push Jefferson and vice versa. West, Telfair and Rondo will push each other and Perk and Ratliff will push each other. There will be some very good competition, but I don't expect fights. They all respect and like each other too much.

I think its a blessing to have Delonte on the team. Even if he doesn't beat out Telfair or Rondo, he's certainly going to push them to be the best they can be. No doubt that Delonte is going to give his max effort to win the starting spot and he's very much an intense competitor. Telfair and Rondo are going to not only have to match his intensity and desire, but raise it to another level in order to get beyond him. Delonte will be pressuring them in practice with his ability to block shots, rebound and play physical defense. Telfair and Rondo won't have an easy time in practice with Delonte harrassing them as he did to other PG's as a starter last season. And this is going to make our young PG's better much quicker.
