Rajon Rondo is equipped with a lot of skills that will make him a studly PG in the NBA. He's got quickness, ball handling, vision, passing ability, long arms, and a whole lot more. What he currently lacks is a shooting touch. While everything else seems to come easily and naturally for him, his shooting can be scary at times (scary in a bad way). This is very evident by his sub 60% free throw shooting in his 2 years at Kentucky. This is near Shaq territory But Kevin Eastman is working with him, and one of Eastman's strength is his teaching ability. He likes working with players individually on developing their games. He works on an assortment of regiments that help players to improve their shooting technique and consistency. In a recent interview with Eastman, he made some comments that reflected his optimism that Rajon could become a more consistent shooter. He's currently working with Rondo on his shooting off the dribble, and I think this is the most important shooting skill a PG should have. This really makes a PG even deadlier. This young kid has a world of talent, and he's even a nightmare on defense. I've got my eyes on Telfair breaking out this season, but I've also got high hopes in Rajon. He's got the talent to jump ahead of Telfair, especially if he gets himself a jump shot.

Not only is Kevin Eastman working with him, but the article a little bit ago detailed how he was working 2 1/2 hours a day on his shooting. All that work has got to pay off in his being a much improved shooter and scorer this season. He will be at least good enough to make the defenses stay honest on him. His shooting was his only knock and if he removes that, he is quite the complete player.

I have no doubt that if a player puts in a lot of extra time working on their jumper, they can become a serviceable shooter, even if they were terrible before. I don't expect an instant turn around with Rajon's shooting But little by little we should see him gaining confidence in his jumper.

As I recall, when DJ came to the Cs, he was a defensive specialist. He became a decent shooter.

He can be paired with Delonte West and Wally Szerbiak on the 2nd team - both are good shooters.

From what I have heard this summer, Rondo will be a good shooter also... You can't work on your shooting 2+ hours a day and not improve quite a bit.
