Kevin Eastman is back on our bench as our assistant coach, after a brief hiatus from the team, joining the newly acquired Clifford Ray. Ray is a big man coach who has proved his value everywhere he has been, and I'm looking forward to seeing our rebounding numbers improve.
I'm excited to have Eastman back in the fold. I have no factual evidence for this, but I think he helped Ricky Davis a lot last season (Eastman's first year with our team). Ricky's pull up jumper was an automatic 2 points last season (at one long stretch, he couldn't miss) and I think it was due to Eastman's mentoring. Eastman has our players go through drills that focus on practing in real time. He has players do shooting reps at quick paces because that's how they'll be shooting during games. I would imagine most coaches would prefer their players shooting at slower paces so that they can work on getting perfect shooting mechanics, but Eastman is different in this manner.
We are doing the right thing by getting developmental coaches on our staff. With the amount of young players we have on the team, its crucial for them to develop the right way, and these 2 coaches have a track record of developing players.

I think the asst coaches will have a positive effect on the team. Also having Theo Ratliffe anchoring the middle will improve our interior defense and rebounding that is so desperately needed.

Theo and Ray will make a huge impact upon the development of Gomes, Perk and Jefferson. I expect to improvement in the Blocking/rebounding categories this season.
