Antoine did it a bit. Dino Radja gave some. I guess you can say Blount did it a bit also. But not since the days Kevin McHale roamed the painted area at the Garden have we had an offense that utilized the inside game. Its been a missing piece of Celtics basketball, just like how we've been missing a playmaking PG all these years.
So will we see the ball actually go inside now?
I think we need to go inside, especially since we have such good perimeter players (Pierce, Wally). It'll help open up our outside game.

Both Jefferson and perk have worked on their offense over the summer. I expect both to be able to produce in the post. Powe is also good with offense in the post if he should get any playing time. Gomes can produce in the post. And we have Clifford Ray to show Doc how to use bigs in the post instead of making them play on the arc. Ray has been working with Al most of the summer on his post moves and with Perk since he was cleared to play. I expect exciting things from our bigs this season....

Jefferson can be the biggest contributor in this area, but he needs the ball in the post to do so. Perk can be serviceable, but I'm not counting on him to give us that much. I'm more interested in him being a rebounding machine.
I like Powe's potential as a low post scorer. He's got a chance to turn out to be a pretty solid player.
I've got hopes for Dwayne Jones. He's an active body with good speed and agility for a big man. He impresses me with his ability to move around the court fluidly and how he's always active. Gets his hands on a lot of loose balls in the air.

Possible. Depends on Clifford Ray.

Big Al is the most athletic and nimble guy down in the post.
But don't count out Perk guys. I am a huge fan of his and his strength is immense. He is a bull down low and can basically get to the rim on anybody just by sheer strength and footwork alone. He does has a little low post game in him. With Ray working with him, I'd expect it to improve.
I really do not see anybody outside of Shaq stopping him from backing them down in the post. He's just too strong, and his footwork improved leaps and bounds last year, and I expect it to get better.
Perk is another viable offensive option down low in the post. There were games last year when Al was out that I was hoping that Perk got the ball more down low.
One game in particular he scored like 10 or 12 points all down low within 5 feet of the basket in the first half. Not to mention to go along with 8 or 9 rebounds. (in the first half!)

That's a part of Jefferson's game that I'd want to see him play more like Perk. Perk can bully his way closer to the basket and get a shot up close. It'll be a huge benefit to Jefferson if he can do the same because he has amazing touch near the basket.
