The NBA has released the schedule for this coming year. The Celtics have 6 NBA-TV appearances, 1 on ESPN and 1 on ABC. Pretty skimpy on the national coverage still. aol.nba.com/celtics/schedule/

I'll be ordering League Pass again. Can't wait for the season to start already.
Our first game is against the Hornets. That'll be a test against our big men. They have a lot of quality big men on their side and they may be quite difficult to handle. Tyson Chandler, Marc Jackson, David West, Brandon Bass, Marcus Fizer, and new additions Hilton Armstrong and Cedric Simmons.

Other than David West, they don't have anyone in the front-court who'll make an impact on the offensive end of the court.
Basically shut down West while let Peja get what he wants. it should be a winnable game for us. Only advantage they have is chris paul but I'm not too worried about him exploding 30 pts on us when you have Rondo or Allen defending him.

They may not be impact big men, but collectively they are a solid core of players.
Tyson Chandler was a 9 rpg guy last season off the bench. By himself, he won't make us sweat, but with other solid big men, he's a guy we have to keep an eye out for.
Same with Marc Jackson. He's like Perkins in that he's strong and has bulk. If its just him, he won't be too much for us to handle. But if he's playing with other big men who we have to concentrate on, then he becomes a guy we have to contend with.
Brandon Bass is a good one. I like his game. He's a strong kid who can play the tweener role at the 3 and 4. Terrific athlete who's strong enough to play PF but has excellent quickness and SF skills to actually play there a bit in a big lineup.
We should be able to win this game. But I don't think its going to be a cakewalk.

NO has better big men, and better pgs. They also have fine swings. This is a very losable game, especially if Doc characteristically plays players that haven't earned their minutes. I expect Doc to start the season like this
Ratlif Al j PP Wally D West or Telfair, probably whichever one doesn't deserve it.

Breaking down game 1 already?
My My we are bored.
A nice feature of the schedule is they play on the West coast during my week off between Christmas and New Years. This presents an opportunity to see some road games live and in person.
Maybe I will get to do a Q on the spot report and pick up a Tommy point or two along the way.

That would be greatly appreciated, Q. See if you can get an interview with any Celtic, telling him you are a reporter for Celtics Green.

Does being a reporter for Celtics Green get you media credentials? Another possibility is going South to Oklahoma and Texas. Oklahoma City is two hours south of me by car, very doable even for a midweek game. It looks like Oklahoma will be a permanent NBA city (either the Sonics or the Hornets move in).
