I don't know what it is about the C's this year. Last year I kind of lost interest, but I'm really looking forward to watching this team this year. The C's should be really fun to watch. This team is one deal away from being on their way to being something really special.

Or maybe just a year of experience away from being something really special...

If our top young players develop and reach their ceilings, I think we already have the pieces in place to be a dynasty.
--if Perkins can be a 11~12 rpg and 3~4 bpg Center --if Jefferson can average 20 ppg and 10 rpg --if Gerald can learn how to be a team scorer and average 20 ppg --if Pierce can continue to contour his game to fit in with the uptempo style --if Telfair can average 10 apg and orchestrate our uptempo offense
--if Dwayne Jones, Ryan Gomes, Wally Szczerbiak, Delonte West, Allan Ray, and Rajon Rondo can be a strong second unit
....we have ourselves the next great Celtics dynasty.
I honestly think the players can reach this level. I feel real good about Gerald's and Jefferson's chances of fulfilling their potential, and I feel good about Gomes, Wally, Delonte, DJ, and Rajon becoming really solid players off the bench. My concern is whether or not Perkins can be a 12 rpg, 4 bpg Center. I know that you believe he can produce these numbers, FL12 ;D

DerranMatts - you forgot one big if there -
Can Doc Rivers coach?
I like this group of players you mentioned. What happened to Tony Allen? Him and Rondo can wreak a lot of havoc out there on the defensive end.
We also need Theo Ratliffe to play at least 1200 minutes off the bench behind Perkins.
Other than that, it is an awful lot of ifs there.

Shoot, how can I forget Tony Allen? Actually, he's got the talent to be a really spectacular player. But his focus is not always there. He's the only one who can stop himself from reaching a really high level.
You're right about Doc's coaching. He really needs to be a good decision making coach, or else no matter how much talent we have, we won't reach the Finals.
