Ainge has an interest in playing a more uptempo style of basketball, thus bringing in Telfair and Rondo to help usher this brand of play. Doc mentioned that we are not a "Big" team or a power team--that we are a small team--and even mentioned being the Phoenix Suns of the east.
This all leads us to guess that we could see Doc field a smallish lineup that makes us quicker.

Making Jefferson a Center makes us a smaller team because he gives up 2 ~ 3 inches to most NBA Centers. We lose some shot blocking and he'll have to learn how to play with a wide base because most Centers are big and bulky. But I think Jefferson can play against the likes of Erick Dampier, Eddie Curry, Jamaal Magloire, etc. He'll clearly out run all of them, and he can probably play face up basketball all night against them and try to beat them off the dribble. He'll be able to draw a lot of fouls against them and force the other team to bring in their subs.
Ryan Gomes at PF did work last year. Though he is undersized, he's an exceptionally fundamental basketball player and he can rebound against bigger competition. He'll certainly miss out on some big rebounds, but he'll make up for it with garbage points and other hustle effort plays.
