In 5 years, who will be the best player we picked up this summer?
Sebastian Telfair?
Rajon Rondo?
Leon Powe?
Allan Ray?
Theo Ratliff?

Rajon Rondo. Mark my words, this guy is gonna be good. I would move Telfair for an all-star just to give him more PT.

After watchng the game last night I have to agree that Rondo is going to be the best player out of all we picked up this year. Allan Ray is a silky smooth shooter but doesn't have the all around game that Rondo has... Powe is going to be good but I think Rondo is going to be a star. There is just something about him. I liked the team much better with Rondo at the helm than when Telfair was running it. Rondo was just as fast but seemed more settled than Telfair. I like Powe a lot too... He has a really nice hook shot and seems to know how to position for rebounds.

Hmmm. Are we done yet? I agree though that Rondo looks really good. I like him the best so far. Allan Ray looks like a really good pickup too. Telfair is too erratic for me. But who knows, once the season starts it could be Telfair. In other words, I have no idea! But Rondo looks the best, but he might not even play right away come the season. I hope we don't trade Rondo. In 5 years he will be the best player out of this bunch imo.....

Right, CF. We may not be done wheeling and dealing this summer. Ainge indicates that there are more things to come, and not via free agency.
If I had to take a guess, choosing from the 5 players w've acquired this summer up to this point, I'd say Rajon Rondo will be the best player. His outside shooting is the only subpar thing about this game. I don't even consider him, or look at him, as a short PG (stands 6'1" ish). He's just an amazing player who has exceptional feel and instincts for the game.

I'm gonna go with Sebastian Telfair.
Why? The guy is a winner. And when he's consistence with his game he shows signs of a great pg. Not to mention he's extremely motivated to make himself a great nba pg.
I'm excited about Rondo as well. I believe both Telfair and Rondo will hold the helm for years to come.

Tough call. 4 out of the 5, or at least 3 out of the 4 will be cogs in the team's quest for the title. Having to decided, Telfair. Give him a year, or 2 w/ the offense, and he will be an all-star.

I'd say it'll be either of the points because they'll both get plenty of chances to shine.

With Telfair, he can be an outstanding PG when he learns that he doesn't have to make a spectacular play on every play, or on every other play. He holds onto the ball too long at times, when all he should do if nothing is in front of him is move the ball around. Even on fastbreaks, the old adage is you can pass the ball up court faster than you can dribble it. He needs to pay attention to this because sometimes, all that is needed is for him to advance the ball up court and let the next person make the pass to the cutting player. Telfair also needs to learn how to perfect the running floater in between the free throw line and the basket. This could be the lethal weapon that makes him a nightmare to guard.
With Rondo, he needs to work on his shooting. I'd say his only flaw would be this. He's an excellent penetrator, he's a better, or cleaner, ball handler than Telfair, his court vision is second to Telfair on the team, and his instincts are very strong. He's got good finishing ability and he's already got a good running floater. His problme is that defenses lay off on him and give him room to shoot so they can take away his dribble penetration--but he can't make them pay because he can't get any consistency on his jumper. Once he gains a jumper, like how Tony Parker has developed one, Rondo is going to be unstoppable.

One important aspect of running an offense that both Rajon and Telfair need to perfect, is spacing the floor. Steve Nash is very good at this. He's nowhere the athlete Telfair and Rajon are, and he's nowhere as quick. But he's such a great PG because he knows how to space himself from his defender, which allows him to make tough passes look routine. He doesn't have long arms, much like Sebastian. But it doesn't seem to bother Nash. But it does seem to bother Telfair (mostly because Telfair likes to drive into traffic more than Nash does).

Poe. He scored 41 points and had 18 rebounds in the Pac 10 championship game. His nickname with the Celtics is: "Grown Man." Look out for Leon.

With the pickups the Celtics have made, there should be outstanding competition at all spots for starting position, and rotation players.
I think Bassy will be the best of the summer pickups for this year. In the future, it could be Rondo.
PG - Bassy, Rondo SG - West, Tony Allen SF - Pierce, Wally Z, Green PF - Gomes, Jefferson, Powe C - Ratliffe, Perkins, Dwayne Jones
Bench Scrub - Scalabrine
Coaches - Doc, Tony Brown, Clifford Ray
Not sure what else Danny Boya wants to get done this summer.
